My girlfriend and I went here about a month ago on a lark, based on the recommendation of a supper club group on Facebook. Boy were we impressed! The hostess was very friendly despite a full house. The bartender encouraged questions about their specials. The manger (Sara) met us at the bar and assured us that we'd be seated soon. Our server, Allison, did a great job of recommending specials. I had to try the bone marrow (see pic), which was fantastic, generously portioned, and served over arugula and with garlic-buttered crostini. My gal had a fish fillet and vegetables. That was delicious, and even the vegetables were 'elevated', just super tasty! I ordered a king cut prime rib (perfectly med rare, very unique and fabulous aus jus, like I've never had before) and garlic mashed potatoes (hearty, flavorful). They offered us wine pours of 6 oz or 9 oz, which I'd never heard of before. We took the 9oz lol. The wine was terrific and fairly priced! We opted for a cheesecake for desert (made by one of the servers in her home business) and it was rich, flavorful, but fluffy, not heavy at all. Allison's service was terrific throughout. Another server heard us discussing the need for to-go boxes, and she promptly brought them without us even asking, and chatted us up. Then Sara came back and sincerely wanted to know how we liked it. We chatted with her for about 10 min about the philosophy there to constantly improve, every dish, all the time. And boy it shows! She then gave us a discount card for our next meal there. We go to supper clubs all the time. We've been to all of them in Sheboygan County and beyond. We both agreed that we'd never been treated better, never had better food at a supper club (or pretty much anywhere), and we couldn't have been more pleased. Now we're scouring our calendar and adjusting our future engagements to make sure we can occasionally be in Appleton to go visit Mark's again and try some of their very creative sounding takes on classic meals, prepared by a clearly enthusiastic and talented chef, and the best bartender, waitstaff, hostess, and manager you could ask for. I think our total bill for wine, appetizer, dinners, and desert came to just under $120. Unbelievable. Umpteen stars for Marks' East Side!! You blew our doors off, and we'll be back! - Kurt Coffin and Annette Koenig, Sheboygan WI.

First time here and We WILL be back the next time we are in Appleton! The food was amazing; better than amazing. My husband had the Reuben soup which he said was delicious some of the best soup he has had. I had the French Onion which I would say is now in my top 3 of some of the best I have had. For main dish my husband had the corned beef and cabbage which he said was better than mine or his grandmothers.... I'm not offended I tasted it and I will surrender it was delicious. And for only real German food I have had was when my husbands grandmother cooked. I had the wiener schnitzel with half potato dumpling and spaetzle and sauerkraut. I learned I like the dumplings better than spaetzle and the only sauerkraut I like is on a Ruben or new york style hot dog or the sauerkraut balls not alone or plain. Also learned red cabbage better then sauerkraut. But with this being said even though I didn't care for it all I tried it and it was good and I did like the wiener schnitzel and everything was delicious. We had the sauerkraut balls as an appetizer those were really good that's why I included them in the three things I would eat sauerkraut with; Now my husband loved them especially with the horseradish sauce. For drinks my husband just had water since they only serve Pepsi and he is a die hard coke fan. Now I had the pecan Russian it was good, strong but good in flavor. We will be back for sure, there were a few things on the menu we both thought sounded good for next time. Our server was great, friendly, knowledgeable of menu, and very helpful, and patience. And as I said we will be back

Honestly, it's my favorite restaurant of all time. If you are looking for a good place that has almost every type of food you can think of, this is the place. I got the steak sandwich. The steak is perfectly cooked and sliced. The bread isn't fulling at all. The menu is super easy to see for the prices and what's Inside the food. I also got the spinach and artichoke dip. The dip is AMAZING the spinach barely even tastes healthy. Tbe bread you get is really good bread, but does make you full after just a couple pieces. The service is amazing. Every waiter/waitress is ALWAYS so nice and funny. Almost everytime I go they love to make jokes and have fun. It's a very fancy but fun place to go to. The service is also very quick and is constantly refilling your water cups. The atmosphere is amazing. It's pretty fancy and is very nice. It makes you feel happy and joyful all at the same time. This place is one of my top restaurants of all time, and I will be going for the 30th time this month. Thank you for reading this review 🙏 ❤️

I don’t usually leave restaurant reviews but this was the worst steak I have ever ordered in my life, and I know that sounds like an exaggeration but while it looks tasty, the flavor was of pure char. The bottom of the steak was burnt black and there was no seasoning prepared with it besides maybe salt and pepper. It tasted like if you licked one of those grills at a local park with every bite you took. There wasn’t a good meat flavor, was truly the worst steak I have ever eaten. I was out with family and wasn’t going to make a big scene about the steak as it was still edible, but that didn’t stop another family member at my table already having a problem with their plate as well. They served the wrong potato order and over cooked both of our steaks. The soup is good, was really busy for a Thursday night. The bar only had old types of liquor. Service was good, they didn’t refill my soda once. Would not pay for a meal here, and I will never forget that burnt char taste of meat that they served for $40.
