You know that happy feeling and brief boost of serotonin, you get when you sip on your overpriced coffee? yeah, you won’t be getting that experience here and you might actually leave more upset and angry because the service here is nonexistent, for better words — rude and dismissive.
I've been to countless cafes, coffee shops, and boba shops but I've never had an experience like this one.
I ordered the So Matcha So Milk with almond milk and I am 99% sure they put soy milk instead. I even had my sister try it and she said the same. When I asked if they could remake it with almond milk, the barista (Angie, who is also the store manager) that made the drink kept saying it was almond milk and didn't want to remake my drink. However, I've ordered this drink on multiple occasions and I know it was not almond milk, because the consistency and flavor of soy milk is thicker; whereas, almond milk is a lot thinner and lighter. I really don't understand why she couldn't just remake the drink for me?? Like it tastes like soy milk??? I don't know how I can prove my point unless you want to try the drink you made yourself?
The male barista ended up remaking my drink, but reluctantly so. The whole experience here was unprofessional and flat out rude. The new drink that he made did actually taste like almond milk, so I was definitely not imagining things. Although it is not a big deal on the grand scheme of things...it's just almond milk but this would be very different if I was allergic and being gaslighted into thinking that they made my drink with almond milk instead when it clearly wasn't???? There is a very distinct difference in taste and consistency between the two.
I felt so belittled at this establishment and they made me feel crazy for thinking that my drink was soy milk??? When actually was??? Literally all this distress could of been avoided if they were just OPEN to remaking my drink in the first place. I know it's not that hard either, because the matcha is already mixed in a bottle, so all they needed to do was simply pour a new milk base with ice...
I do not recommend coming to an establishment that doesn't value their customers, especially when it is the store manager of all people that elicits such behavior and attitude. To me, when the manager demonstrates this type service, it becomes a reflection of fika fika as a...
Read moreFika Fika is a cute little coffee shop that also specializes in tea and ice cream offerings in Arcadia. It is located in the same plaza as the Korean supermarket H-Mart, so it’s very convenient for getting yourself a caffeine boost before doing some grocery shopping.
There is plenty of parking in the plaza and plenty of seating inside the shop, but the seats stay almost always full of customers either working on their laptops or just hanging out. There are also a few tables and chairs outside if you prefer some fresh air. You see customers ranging from the elderly to young students, so it seems their flavors appeal to all age ranges.
We got an iced latte with honey boba and the house Fika coffee. The boba was quite sweet and paired with the coffee nicely. We also got an iced taro milk drink. I asked for half sweet but the cashier said it would result in less taro, so I left it as is. Oh boy was that drink overly sweet, to the point I could not finish it.
Based on both drinks I would say their offerings are definitely on the overly sweet side. The packed shop was also a nice sign to see life returning back to normal. I’ll update my review once I sample their ice cream and tea drinks. In the mean time, I would say come here if you enjoy a big cup of...
Read moreI've been coming to this coffee shop ever since the pandemic in 2020. Needless to say, this place has a very special place in my heart. Its iced Jasmine flower latte and delicious popcorn chicken are so comforting! The iced fruit teas are also on-point! But today it was an unexpected cold LA morning, so I ordered a hot coffee. I expected the level of a third-wave coffee shop, but the milk was burned, I had to wait 5-6 minutes before drinking it, lost all the coffee aroma and there wasn't this addicting milk creaminess. So, I just wanted to point out this as an area of improvement and if anybody out-there is an avid coffee drinker. But everything else is on-point! The staff is always nice,, the food is always fresh, the vibe is always positively memorable, the patio is neat, and welcoming, and I always look forward to coming ❤️🙏
Ps: if you don't love sugar, don't forget to order your drinks with the least amount (25% sugar) - they don't do 0%, while still sweet, it's not sickly sweet. Tolerable on hot days I'd say. This is coming from a gal that doesn't put sugar in her coffee or milk teas. I don't love...
