Ā Ā Ā Read moreTonight at 9:45pm, I had a worst shopping experience ever anywhere at H Mart Market Acadia. The store clearly says that is closed at 10pm, acknowledged by some employees and even on google map. Unfortunately, I was stopped from entering the store to get a couple bags of my sisters favorite korean potato chips by a security guard outside the door. He rudely said,ā weāre closed.ā I responded google says closing at 10:00pm. No, he said we close 15 mins before 10pm every night. Sadly, I decided to walk to my car but now heās not guarding the door anymore and allowed others shoppers to continue entering the store, at least 6 people. Then, I decided to confront him about why I had to be single out this way? Itās wrong! I didnāt know him and I had nothing against him. Iām here to shop just like at least 30 plus time I did since its opening. As an Asian business owner in Arcadia, I always like to support Asian American Businesses coz i know how difficult it is to retain a customer. I confronted him and I asked why you let other people in and not letting me in. He rudely responded because he likes to do that. I demanded to talk someone in charge he physically used his chest to push me off to prevent me from talking to someone. Now, itās 9:54. More shoppers showed up to come in to shop. He yelled at them weāre closed. They said but itās not 10 yet and the 2 lady shoppers told him that itās not 10pm. They were much visibly upset as me. They came to talk and they were finally allowed to shop. I follow them but I did not know where the chip bags were so I had to come back out front. Now, the security guard found someone, who he said was in charged. I explained to the man but he seemed careless about my side anyway since other shoppers were paying next to me told me to file a formal complain. I told him was going to write a review about my experience. He rudely told me he wouldnāt care about my review. I can do as much as I want. Again, all this is supposed to be by the cashiers area. You may want to review it on your security cameras. As a business owner, I valued all customers, because without them our business would not last. As this kind of business is extremely competitive. Again, if you intend to close at 10. So let it be. Please do not confuse the customers. My case I had to drive all the way to your store and got turn away like a whatever! I usually do not write review but I was very upset just for the fact that I got single out on what? Sadly no one in the store would own up to their maltreatment of loyal customer. So, attention shoppers if youāre not ready for a last minute beat down. Please allow yourselves plenty of times shopping. Food wise very good. Service wise is very shady! āā Better...
NEAGATIVE 100 STARS if I had the option to choose. Will NEVER visit again. I went in to buy the fish, Kintaro Perch around 4pm last Saturday since I saw it on sale. My family really liked it so I decided to go again with my sister around 5pm today. I looked today and the sale sign was not there but I bought it anyways since it was only $1/lb difference. But coincidence or not a Korean old male worker came out with the sale sign right when a Hispanic male worker was cutting up my fish. So I asked him if I can get the sale price and he said no. And when I looked closely at the sale sign it says from 11/2/22~ 11/30/22 and TODAY is 11/19/22 so I told him it says begins November 2. But he still said no and said "IT DOESN'T MATTER, ITS MEā (pointing at himself). And then he NEVER left after changing the sign and he kept on staring at me like he's scared I won't take the fish. He finally left after he saw that I took the fish from the other employer. I felt disappointed after listening to his explanation and I told my sister who walked away for something else what happened. My sister agreed it's not a legitimate reason and I shouldāve been treated better. For example, if he had told me they can't change the price after weighing the fish I would've easily accepted the answer. My sister told me to go back and ask the Hispanic worker who had helped me cut the fish earlier again for assistance and sure enough after I asked the Hispanic worker, he also went to ask the old Korean man too. I m guessing the Korean man is the manager of the fish dept or something, he didn't look happy and kind of gave us an attitude when he saw me and said he already told me no. So I told him again the sign says 11/2/22 and he continued to persist that's the price. At that point lots of people were staring at us and I didn't want to argue anymore so I said I don't want it anymore and gave it back to him. We began to walk away and he called me back and I wanted to give him another chance so I walked back and guess what he said... YOU NEED TO BE A RIGHT PERSON. TAKE IT BACK. I just told him November 2 and walked away. At that point I was so fed up that we walked out empty handed without any dinner. Very disappointed at H Mart and especially their fish dept. H Mart if you don't want to honor your sale promotion then don't put it up or if there's specific time frames be clear about it! Don't let your workers take away and put out the sign whenever he wants to. Honestly, it's not about the money, it's only $7 more. It's about being an ethicial business and honoring your prices and delivering excellent...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a nice clean market that doesn't have that fishy or Asian spice smell. It certainly ranks up there with the kind of market that non-Asians would shop at. As you enter you have prepared foods from sweet fried chicken wings, bibimbap, fresh steamed dumplings and all kinds of other foods I can't pronounce or have any real idea what they are. Next is the refrigerated section with a plethora of pickled vegetables. Kimchee, spinach, seaweed, and squid are just the tip of the iceberg of what you will find. Next to that is a fresh bakery and next to that is a small food court.
I really only shop for specific things like ramen, Chinese dried roasted peanuts, and fresh cut squid for fishing bait. The shelves are super clean and so well stocked with a wide variety of foods from overseas. They have a mix of Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and even Filipino snacks and other packaged goods. The ramen aisle has so many varieties and brands of noodle, it can take a while just to go through it all.
Their seafood department is big and includes a traditional stand with fresh caught fish packed in ice and tanks with live shellfish. They offer cut and clean of the whole fresh seafood at this counter too.
The meat department is just as big but admittedly I don't go there for meat so can't comment on that. Next up is the produce section and again it is so well organized and clean.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what they have to offer as they also have frozen seafood aisles, and dry goods like rice cookers, woks, pans, and steamers. I am sure I am missing some in that list.
My only negative I can think of is the pricing. Yes, it's not as affordable as its competition but it's much cleaner, no rude customers or workers, and multiple register aisles open. Be sure to open a free club member account if you decide to shop here more than once.
Bottom line, it's worth checking out for yourself and deciding whether this will be on your list of markets...
