Seriously, this place slaps. Probably the best barbecue place I've ever been to. Now, I'm not normally a big barbecue person, but if I had the means for it, I'd become a regular at this place! I got the Caesar salad, jalapeño poppers with Sriracha ranch, and the special beef rib bun with steak fries and mac n cheese, and every single item was cooked to (personal) perfection- the salad was fresh and flavorful, the poppers were hot and SUPER flavorful, the rib special was extremely tender, the steak fries were almost creamy on the inside and nice and crispy on the outside, and the mac n cheese was made with real cheese, you could tell! My only slight complaints are that the fries and macaroni were under-salted (I actually like that, since it lets you make the saltiness to your preference,) and that the jalapeño poppers were so flavorful that the flavor of the Sriracha ranch wasn't very noticeable. Notice how these complaints are actually compliments in disguise? The servers were also really personable and had an attitude which made the environment feel homely, bringing it all together into a really nice and delicious experience. Highly recommend if you've got the money to spare, and even then it's not even that expensive given the quality of the food! (I specifically ordered a lot of food as you can tell, and it only came out to $40 including all other fees!) A perfect treat-yourself restaurant.

We met friends for lunch at Slim's and could tell it was a local favorite. They would not seat us until our entire party was there, which is understandable as the place filled quickly. But we were seated as soon as everyone arrived, so they were watching out for us. This is a locals restaurant, friendly and reasonably priced, which also happens to have some BBQ. They had sweet tea, no surprise, so I had that. Everyone else had water. Two of us ordered the Rib Special, $9.99, and we both had it with garlic bread and steak fries. They supply two BBQ sauces, mild and spicy, and I found the "spicy" was about medium. The ribs were great and both of us ate them all. The other friend had the Lite Fish Special, $9.99, and enjoyed it. My wife had the Key West Style Sandwich Basket with chicken, $9.99, and also enjoyed it. Both of these came with the Key West sauce, which worked really well on fries. They had some nice desserts, but none of us had room to try them. All of us would come back anytime, the food was great and the service was solid.

Leaving a 5 star review because there was no option for 6! If you are traveling through Arcadia, this is a must stop! Down home delicious BBQ served on picnic tables. Clearly a local favorite and with good reason. For a humble and historic small town in central Florida the service and ambience was perfect. The only trouble you will have is in deciding on which sides! The fried okra was the best I have ever had. The green beans were outstanding - crisp yet tender and flavorful. The parking is easy, if you are towing a camper there is a great area in the back with an easy side street exit.

🇺🇸. New to the area. Try it out on slim barbecue. It's okay. But don't eat the sauce. Now the lady at the front counter who took my order. Twice the same lady. Really needs to be taught how to have customer service for the customer at the front counter. You act like you're in such a hurry that you have no time to answer a question for a customer. I own a business and been in business for over 45 years of my life. And I'm going to be honest with everybody in this town. If that woman works for me at my counter. She would be fired immediately by me the owner. Change attitude lose it get yourself right before you come to work. When we come into a place of business and buy food or order anything. We don't need an attitude from anybody who come to work with a bad attitude. So for this I will not eat at your slim BBQ ever again. I will definitely find somewhere else to eat barbecue in this town. Arcadia Florida. I hope the owner reads this and really understands where another owner is coming from. And I moved my company to this town. Arcadia Florida. I personally suggest you get rid of the woman at the front counter. I also was standing there when one of your regular customers came in. Asked for something it was told straight up no but the way she did it was not the proper way of talking to one of your regulars. I personally believe the lady was ready to leave. I guarantee you that there's more than this place to get barbecue in this town. And I will find where it's...

During our family vacation, we decided to stop by this restaurant, a party of six hungry travelers eager to experience some local cuisine. As a group hailing from the Windy City, known for its culinary delights, we had high hopes for our dinner. The experience left us with mixed feelings.

Let's start with the highlights: the steak. It was a shining star on our table, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The skill and expertise in preparing it were evident, and it satisfied our carnivorous cravings. We couldn't have asked for a better steak.

However, our enthusiasm was dampened when we turned to the ribs and Mac and Cheese. The ribs had an unusual and off-putting flavor, which was unexpected, especially in a place that seemed to specialize in such dishes. I had to return both the ribs and the Mac and Cheese, which were equally disappointing. It was disappointing to see such potential fall short in execution.

Nonetheless, it's important to acknowledge that this restaurant has a lot of potential. With some adjustments and improvements in the preparation of certain dishes, it could easily elevate itself to a must-visit spot for travelers. The ambiance was pleasant, the service attentive, and the steak, as mentioned before, was a standout.

In conclusion, while our dining experience had its ups and downs, I believe that with a bit of fine-tuning in the kitchen, this restaurant has the potential to become a true culinary gem for both locals...
