Really great portions. Really average bland food. Really horrible service. The prices were ok, considering the portions, but instead of charging so much, I would make the portions more reasonable, and cut the prices a bit. Instead, there's a sign on the door that says: "Due to recent wholesale price increases, we've had to temporarily raise our prices," but the problem is, THEY DIDN'T CHANGE THE PRICES ON THE MENU...they expect you to ask the already overworked server, who barely had time to take my order, let alone tell me what the prices were. The problem is, I ordered two items (no drinks or appetizers), which together should have cost $23.49, plus tax. But my bill was $28+, plus tax. Nearly five dollars on two items is a HUGE "temporary" price increase. The worst part, is that they don't give you an itemized bill, just the credit card total, so I don't know if I was overcharged. I asked for an itemized bill, and waited almost ten minutes, but it never came. I sat there with my menu closed for so long before someone came to take my order, that I had eaten the entire basket of tortilla chips before placing my order. Then I sat there starting at an empty basket of chips for another 15 minutes while I waited for my food, which came out piecemeal (I'd eaten half of one plate before the other showed up). The wait for the bill (after asking for it) was nearly as long. There was only one server, plus a host/busser who was totally useless. There were never more than five tables in use at the same time (in a restaurant with 20 4-top tables), but they take carryout orders thru a window, and the phone rang CONSTANTLY throughout my meal because no one answered it. At the very least, they need someone to handle the phone and carryout orders (what was wrong with the busser?), and at least one more in the kitchen. It's bad enough that they are ignoring customers on the phone, but the customers in the dining room have to listen to that constant ringing. In short, it took an hour-and-a-half for an overpriced lunch, and the food was just...
Read moreWhile the food was delicious, the way it left my wife and I feeling was less than perfect. Having grown up in Tampa, I am no stranger to Mexican food and the way it can make you feel. However, nothing prepared me for how I would feel after eating here. As it was our first time eating here, we ordered more food than we normally would so that we could try a lot. The food was great. I had the Quesadilla Loca, my wife had a hard chicken and hard beef taco, and we split beef nachos. The portion size was great and the way it tasted was amazing. However, we were not prepared for how we would feel 30 minutes after we ate. I am certain it was not food poisoning or poorly cooked food, I believe that it is just a case of the food being very rich and fatty. This is not a complaint at all, just a statement and a warning to others who may eat here. We will definitely be back, we will just be a little more cognizant of what we order and eat. Next time, we will be a little more cautious with our orders but we will...
Read moreThe atmosphere was good with fairly quick service for the preorder of chips and drinks. The waitress was friendly. The meal came quickly which had me wondering how they made it so fast, but after tasting it, I immediately became aware the meat was not fresh, a bit chewy and overcooked. I gather they threw in some fresh vegetables and reheated the meat and served it. Wife and I shared a $23.99 plate plus $3 for chicken and shrimp bump and I had a margarita, she drank water and the bill was $38! The bill was not itemized but I can only figure the drink to be around $11? Very expensive! The chips were also stale. The salsa was good. Overall, the meal lacked flavor. I expected better and wonât be back. Very overpriced for the quality. It was a Saturday night and...
