Romeo Gastrobar — Restaurant in Arecibo

They tried very hard, but this is no gastrobar. They wanted it to have an old Italian feel but the fountain caused us to be eaten up by mosquitoes. The bartender offered us insect spray but we did not accept it because we didn't want to smell like that while we ate. We ordered the Queso fondido con Ropa Vieja. It was good but very sweet. The menu says it comes with pita bread but it was brought with tortilla chips. I pointed this out to the waiter. He said the menu has been updated. He asked if we wanted pita bread. When I said yes, he said he would see if they had any. ?!? Why offer or ask if I wanted what the menu says if you weren't even sure. They did have some which he brought out. They were nicely toasted with oil. While we finished our drinks and food (quickly so we'd stop getting eaten by mosquitoes) the waiter sat at another table with either his girlfriend, or a waitress. She was laughing and talking EXTREMELY loudly with no shame and no care about the customers present. We asked for the check and stood up, waiting so they knew we were ready to pay and leave. It took over 5 minutes (in an empty restaurant) to bring the check because they must present it in a smoke filled chest, for the "wow factor" that you will not get by anything else there. SERVICIO TERRIBLE Y COMIDA…NO SE PORQUE NO LA PROBE. La mesera con actitudes desde el principio. Aperitivos llegaron 1 hora y media despues de haber preguntado por ellos. Luego de haber pedido solamente pizzas, las pizzas nunca llegaron. Luego de 2 horas cuando preguntamos por las pizzas me dejaron saber que la cocina estaba rushed. Pero mientras me decia eso veia las mesas ir y venir llenas de comida. Veia a personas que llegaron 1 hora luego de mi comiendo y yendose. LUEGO DE CASI 3 HORAS esperando unas tristes pizzas ,no me quedo de otra que parame y pedrile a la mesera que cancelara las pizzas y me diera la cuenta. La mesera procede a salirme con actitudes y preguntarme si estaba segura que si queria cancelar las pizzas y le contesto que si. Con actitudes me responde que la cocina estaba rushed. Por lo que le respondo que es imposible que la cocina este tan rushed ya que varios grupos que habian llegado despues de nosotros ya habian comido y se habian ido. Yo que venia de lejos a casi 1 hora para comer, tuve que esperar 3 horas por una comida que nunca llego. Y no hablar de los miles de mosquitos para los cuales supuestamente no tenian OFF pero si tenian y el cofresito lindo que te dan con la cuenta despues de darte el peor servicio ever. 0/10 no lo recomiendo...
