La Buena Vida — Restaurant in Arecibo

We found La Buena Vida after our visit to the nearby Cueva Ventana. It was highly rated and a easy drive from the caves. Having grown up on Italian, I was cautious, but not disappointed.

La Buena Vida is a charming, well kept bar and restaurant. There are only a few tables inside, but several on the outdoor patio. The staff was very friendly and throughly answered our questions.

We started with the mozzerella bruchette. Perfect bread, solid yet creamy mozzerella, a basil leaf, and a drop of olive oil. Very clean and refreshing.

My wife and I then split the panchette pasta, which was basically a carbonara. The rotini pasta was perfectly cooked and the sause was flavorful and not oily at all. Even though we split the plate, it was still a generous portion and we were well satisfied.

Although we only had water, the seemed to have a good selection of bottled beers in their refrigerator.

The beer selection was amazing, the ambiance was amazing, the view was amazing, and out server was the sweetest! We had the appetizer toast plate and everything we selected on it was great. I had the Terrapin Wake and Bake (coffee imperial stout) and my boyfriend had slightly sour style beer (telltale tart) and a founders harvest ale. Codifying that it was very difficult to find any beer besides Miller lite, Medalia or Coors, this was so awesome to have some really delicious craft beer! I had a pesto pasta with chicken and the man had a linguine with Alfredo sauce. There only reason we didn't rate this as 5 stars was we thought that maybe the mains needed a bit more finesse to be perfect, but I would go back in a heartbeat. I just had a pasta equivalent to carbonara with add a chicken that was mind-blowing good.

I had no idea this place to be this good!

Walking in that it's a small cozy place that has some nice artwork on the wall and directly you can see the kitchen where they are preparing the meals that we ordered so we can even sit at the bar light table and watch them cook it!

They do have outside area to reconsider enjoy the nice open-air from the beach is not too far away.
