Well for years up until a few weeks ago I always had a pretty decent experience. For starters, I had a waitress flip out on me over a bisquit. Now I should say most of the waitstaff is friendly and hard working. She wasn't my waitress but when mine got busy I waived her over to get me a replacement item because I wasn't happy with the item they sell as a bisquit but to most people who look at it and taste it it's a dinner roll. I had agreed to disagree on the fact it was a bisquit it was not to me. Instead of her acting and being normal and saying I'll check on that, she proceeded to start an argument. Then when I said agree to disagree she then yelled a name at me across the dinning room.As I was leaving I had decided to have a word with the owner as this is very much not my usual experience and the fact that this waitress I had left 75% tips in the past we are talking 10$ on a 15$ meal because I tip well being a former server myself. As I was conversating with the owner the waitress rushed up on us and started screaming, she then proceeded to throw part of a waitress note pad at me.The owner apologized for the watresses behavior then covered my bill. Which was nice but I was going to go ahead and pay for it, but I won't be back given the waitress is a relative of thiers and I don't do drama at breakfast or who knows if she would...
Read moreThe first time we tried Daisy Mae's we were hooked. To be honest when we saw the prices for a steak dinner with salad and dessert bar we weren't expecting much. Though small the salad bar was fresh and surprisingly managed to get quite a bit out. I love the Cole slaw and potato salad they always have. There usually are 6 different desserts being offered. They are all so good I haven't found just one so I eat 6 different ones. It seems my entire family does the same thing. We usually order the steak and shrimp Friday special or their chicken fried steak. The steaks are perfectly cooked and seasoned. The baked potatoes are fluffy and huge. 3 large shrimp and Texas toast complete our meal. So much food and the price, wow! We pay the same price at fast food restaurants. Service is friendly and with us being regular customers they know exactly what we want. You can always judge a restaurants by how many regulars they have and Daisy Mae's has a lot of loyal regulars. For a family of 4 for the salad/dessert bar, steak, shrimp, potato and drink we pay under $60. Both my husband and I bring home half a steak each along with half the potato and have it for lunch the next day. This is one restaurant I recommend...
Read moreHaven't been here in several years. Place has been redecorated so it looked cleaner than it used to but that was the only improvement! Service was beyond slow. Was about to leave when the waitress brought us menus. I ordered the daily special...two 6 ounce sirloin steak dinners. Asked for them to be cooked to medium well. They were cooked FAR beyond WELL DONE. Did not look like sirloin steak, looked like Skirt Steak and was so tough and chewy I couldn't begin to eat it! There was No seasoning on any of the food, stakes were always marinated before. Steak was gray in color as if it had been baked rather than grilled. There were no dinner rolls so I was given two pieces of toast (not even Texas toast) that had to have been left over from breakfast because it was cold, tough and rubbery. Best part of the entire meal was the packets of jelly to put on the nasty toast. I drove 45 miles to take my friend to dinner there but guarantee that will be the last time I eat here. Not sure if there are new owners since I ate there last but whoever is running the place needs to learn about cooking and service. The man sittibg at the table behind me had to send his Tuna sandwich back because there was "only a...
