This was my first time trying African cuisine, and I had a wonderful experience! Aze and her sister Aziza were extremely welcoming and friendly. My daughter even made a friend with Aze daughter! They generously offered us samples of several dishes to taste, which made us feel right at home. Aze even offered to go get my daughter her diet Coke from the store since they were out, she was accommodating to my daughter's diabetes! Which is so nice of her! You can tell she loves kids! The food is made fresh and with organic ingredients, and you can truly taste the quality. As they mention, this is not fast food , everything is prepared with care, so be patient because it’s worth it. I ordered the Ugali with beef stew, and my friend had the fried fish with rice. Both were flavorful and delicious 😋 The atmosphere, music, and overall vibe were great. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning soon! ✨🙌🏻

We stumbled upon this hidden gem in Arlington! When we walked in, it instantly felt like home, from the fragrances to decor to the welcome. Everything was spot on! The ugali was perfectly made, the nyama choma was juicy and well-seasoned, and the sukuma was fresh and flavorful. The samosas and masala fries had the perfect kick and were a great side. The taste was as close to home as possible! The owner, Aziza, was so kind—her energy lights up the place. Her story is truly inspiring, and it’s clear she pours her heart into the food and the experience. We’ll definitely be back.

Best Swahili Cuisine! From the Owner herself, to the food, the vibrant Kenyan decor and ambience. The star meal for me is ugali and nyama choma. We also ordered samosa, chips masala and I can't wait to try other meals on the menu in the coming days. An incredible aroma that comes from the kitchen all the times that I've been to this place is something else. Whether you're familiar with African food or new to it, this restaurant is a must-visit. It delivers not just a meal, but a cultural experience. It's Home! Did I mention that it's kid's friendly? 🤷🏽‍♀️

We had the most incredible dining experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious - every dish was perfectly prepared, tasteful and beautifully presented. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was kind and explained how she personally implements and blends the flavor of Western and Eastern African cuisines. Everything we ordered was freshly prepared. Mutura is such a rare find in the DFW, so savory and passionately prepared; Matumbo was perfectly cooked and flavored; and the Ugali was Chefs Kiss. We can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu. Definitely a new favorite spot!...
