Good stuff: Friendly, courteous, and respectful staff. There was an emergency whistle blown by a guest and the staff took it very seriously; went right to the aid of the guest with no hesitation! The response was exactly what you would want in a place where there is such a risk of injury.
The courses are well maintained, water is readily available, and the staff carry first aid kits on their person. Even though you are on your own with your gear and while on the ropes there is a central hub, where all the courses begin, that is staffed. They are able to help readjust harnesses and make sure you know how to use your gear.
They provide essentials like water and hair ties, but not gloves, although they allow you to bring your own.
The ropes were challenging, but possible and we felt safe. Each of the upper courses ended with a zip line.
Areas that need improvement:
Not enough staff to keep everything running smoothly.
We went on a Saturday and they only had 3 employees in the field. One on the upper deck, one on the lower deck, and one at the end of the long zip line & harness tent. This may have sufficed, however when the emergency happened the guys at the hub responded to him and there was no one manning any of the other ropes. This stopped all activity for about 45 minutes while the guides assisted & escorted the guest down.
Lack of staff also led to confusion because we didn’t know what to do at that point, could we continue on other rope courses or did we have to wait for the staff to return. People who arrived during that time came up to a staffless hub. They assumed they were on their own and proceeded to the ropes.
Disclose the need for gloves on the website, along with the cost.
Overall it was a lot of fun and we had...
Read moreThis location’s course was beautiful and most of the staff were lovely. The issue came when we were buying gloves, my gloves were clearly dirty, so I thought we were renting them, but when the lady (I don’t remember her name but she’s the one above the rest) said they were new and we were buying them. I told her mine were dirty. She defended the integrity of the gloves and mind you, I didn’t need to complain but I felt if I was buying something, they should look new.
A little while later I just said ‘for my peace of mind, can I get a new pair ‘ and she sighed and said ‘okay’.
Because that was my first interaction with the staff, I just knew it was gonna be a bit weird. And it wasn’t with anyone else. Priscilla (I think I butchered her name) and Yana (maybe Amanda) were absolute angels and very passionate and grateful of their work. They reinforced why I was originally excited to be there. The morning staff was running behind and we paid for 3 hours, but we were cut off 20 minutes before the 3 hr mark would’ve been valid if we started on time. That was the second issue. I didn’t understand why we had to leave with something left to be desired on the account of the staff not being prepared.
I get this is a long post, but I think there should be a notice saying that we are roughly paying for 3 hours of play and the 3 hours includes the training at the beginning.
I wouldn’t currently recommend this place with that lady in charge because she is the face of the company and she kinda dropped the ball over some gloves. Although beautiful scenery. We even saw a bobcat.
I will be returning some time next year and am absolutely open to returning to the course again at any...
Read moreI took my nephew to GoApe approximately 3 weeks ago. I’m out of shape ha ha ha, I’ll go again when I’m in better shape. My nephew enjoyed himself but was not able to do all of the obstacles due to strength issues so our visit didn’t last long. One thing I didn’t like is that our slot time was 10:30am and since we we’re going to be late for the 15 min safety briefing at 1015, I called to see if it was going to be an issue, the representative stated that I would have to attempt to reserve another time slot and it would be a $10 fee to do that, she sounded like she was in a rush to disconnected the line, but I asked if we could go ahead and reschedule for another time. She rescheduled us to 10:45am. We arrived at approx 10:25am and there was a group of people from the 10:30 slot still checking in front of us. We finally checked in but didn’t even get started with the safety briefing until 11:45am which was an hour after our time slot. There were groups that were set for 10:15am, 10:30am, 10:45am, 11:00am, and 11:15am that we’re still showing up and did not have to pay the $10 fee like I did. It was almost as if they we’re bundling all these time slots together for 1 briefing, which is smart but if that was the case why charge the fee. Aside from that Andrea was amazing with the safety briefing. People were talking during the briefing, interrupting her, and being immature while she was trying to explain things. She kept her cool, kept a smile on her face, spoke loud and clear and remained professional. She was very thorough and made sure she answered any questions or concerns anyone had. She definitely deserves a raise. The rest of the staff were helpful but Andrea...
