Food is horrible. This is so sad. I went to this burger place when it opened at the VERY BEGINNING, I have never to this day had such an amazing burger. The ONLY reason I didn’t go back is because the AC was not working. We are in Texas and I refuse to eat in an establishment that doesn’t have properly functioning A/C. I would have ordered and taken it to go but the wait would have still been very long. The food USED to be that amazing and for some people that is worth it. However for me no/poor A/C isn’t an option, even with it being the absolute best burger I have ever had. I was in the area and drove by it today. I saw the place looked different so I pulled over, went online and found out it had new owners. Well I should have looked at all the reviews including the most recent. I went in and the place had been remodeled, BUT it felt like yet again the AC wasn’t working. I decided I was already there and it was dead as far as business so I ordered. The server was nice, but didn’t know things like if I could change from cheddar to American cheese? Said the Food truck hadn’t come so there were no desserts? I didn’t bother confusing the cook so I just said that is fine just give me the food the way it comes. I made SURE to be polite. I got the same cheeseburger that I had ordered when I came before, onion rings and fried pickles. Omg. SO NASTY! The burgers were burnt, The patties were thin, SO THIN compared to what they were before. There was ONE piece of the applewood bacon on ONE of the burgers (the other two did have more bacon but the smell wasn’t right at all) and it had a weird coloring. The food (cheeseburgers or the bacon?) smelled like something was turning. The sides: I ordered two large onion rings and one large order of fried pickles. I have never had onion rings that were as bland as these. Just straight unseasoned batter and the onion part looked shriveled and thin. The fried pickles were awful too. They are made with cornmeal and the only seasoning I tasted was AFTER you chewed it up a little (got past the dirt texture) so the pickle could kick in and that gave it some salt. I was too scared to eat the burgers. Between the smell and the ONE BITE I took I refused. Everything was a little over 50.00 and I tipped 20% on top (yes I tip even when ordering to go because that is the right way to behave when eating out or ordering food) for crap. If I lived closer I would have taken back the food, but I don’t. I should have checked the dang food when I was there and I am SO SORRY I DIDNT. I see this place gets mixed reviews as of late, I don’t understand how because frankly I am worried about getting food poisoning from the ONE bite I took of my cheeseburger. My family wouldn’t touch theirs. If this was a hit or miss based on flavor, maybe I would take another chance? However, I would NEVER take another chance ON THE POSSIBILITY OF BEING SERVED RANCID FOOD. This is not the only review that talks about the food being bad, bad meaning the food is turning not just tasting bad. I just can’t believe this place became as awful as it is, now. Still A/C issues, but NOW not only do you get to sweat and be uncomfortable while waiting, you also pay to possibly get food poisoning too! Two of everyone’s favorite things for the price of one!! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR RISK THE POSSIBILITY OF GETTING SICK FROM WHATEVER INGREDIENT OR MEAT THAT IS TURNING. 🤢🤢🤢 I tried to get bright pics so you can see the bacon has a weird color to it. It is an off slightly greenish color. This place should be closed down and VERY EMBARRASSED. Ended up throwing...
Read moreThis is the first time I have ever gone off on a restaurant because I have never had such a terrible experience before. My husband and I made the mistake of going to Mahogany Chop House for the first time and it will definitely be our last! When we got to the restaurant there were 3 other people there…so not busy. The waitress told us to sit wherever and she brought the menus. There were several things that interested me on the menu including rice bowls, fried rice and especially salmon with rice. The waitress came back to take our drink order. I asked for a glass of Chardonnay and my hubby ordered a beer. She brought our drink orders but she gave me a glass of red wine. I pointed it out to her and she said “well that’s what the bartender gave me.” She then yelled across the restaurant and asked the guy about the wine…he said they were out of any white wine. So I just took it. When she came back to take our orders I ordered salmon with rice. Guess what? They were all out of rice and all seafood. I settled for a Reuben sandwich- which the menu described as grilled rye bread with corned beef, sauerkraut, thousand island and Swiss cheese. What I got was 2 pieces of dry Texas toast, some unidentifiable little chips of meat, Swiss cheese and that’s it! I was so mad when we left I went to the counter asking for a business card for the owner or manager…GUESS WHAT?? They were out of those, too. So I just went home and took another blood pressure pill. DO NOT GO THERE!! They are located on Park Row and...
Read moreNot good at all! They need to remove the Guy Fieri life size cut out from the entrance because I am sure he would not stand by this place now. We go in what seems to be an entrance and are very confused as to where to go. We are finally directed to a counter in the room to the right. As we go through tables to get to the counter I am already disappointed by the looks of the place and how dirty the floors even are. The girl behind the counter is very friendly and gives us her recommendations and we place our order. She asks if that’s all and my husband says, yes unless you sell beer. She was like yes we do and he was asking what kinds when the other girl was like, hold on… she goes up to the gentleman sitting at a table behind us and comes back and says they do not have their liquor license so he can have the beer for free. Umm-ok. We pay and go sit down to wait. The place is very dirty. We finally get our food and both of our bottom buns are so burnt they are black. I send mine back and wait and wait. The sweet potato fries are cold but I’m hungry so I start eating them anyway. When my burger finally makes it’s way back to my table, the meat is raw in the inside. I ate around the edges. My husband had the mushroom Swiss burger and the patty broke up into so many pieces he had to pick up pieces of it and eat with his fingers. Just not a good experience at all. Please save your money and go somewhere else. Not even sure how this place made it on to the show...
