Generally, I like the food at most Panda restaraunts, but the Panda at Fort Myer/Henderson Hall has a BIG problem with food quality, freshness and availability.
They are frequently out of many menu entrees OR what they have is old, dried out, over cooked or clearly not fresh and we have frequently had to ask and wait for entrees to be cooked. We've had vegetables that tasted like metal, hard-dried out rice, and cold and greasy battered chicken that was rubbery or hard.
Three weeks ago we got very sick after deciding to take food that had clearly been sitting for too long. We made the decision to not ask them to make fresh entrees because we were in a hurry and got violently sick after eating it.
The owner/operator needs to review processes, enforce food handling protocols and provide better training and supervision for the guys doing the cooking and also for those making spoilage discard decisions.

She even monitors the rice: which is ridiculous since rice is the cheapest thing ever… I literally watched her Watch the person from afar making my plate!! It’s ridiculous!….. It makes me feel like she’s maybe saving the food to take home at the end of the night. I’ve been to MANY Panda Express restaurants and have NEVER experienced such a hard monitor on the food…The plates are super light and even more expensive. Dried old chow mein, undercooked fried rice, entrees that have been poorly made, never have white rice available, missing sauces like teriyaki, and the list goes on. Never an apology or explanation, just an oh well. They often don't refill items, so it's hit or miss. And it appears they really don't care. Very poor customer service experience.
