New patients should heed the warning of the 1-star reviews on Google. I wish I had read them before committing to this place because they are completely accurate.
From the start, the environment at Pershing Chiropractic and Rehab felt offāeveryone, especially the front desk staff, is overly friendly to the point of being fake and insincere. It creates an atmosphere that feels disingenuous, almost cult-like. Instead of coming across as genuinely caring, it feels like theyāre just buttering you up for the hard sales pitch that inevitably follows.
I also now see what past reviewers meant when they said this office did not follow proper COVID-19 protocols. Although COVID-19 protocols are rolled back now, hygiene and cleanliness donāt seem to be a priority here, which is concerning for a healthcare facility. When I was extremely sick and needed to reschedule my appointments, the front desk girl, Gabby, kept pushing me to come in, claiming an āadjustment would help with being sick.ā No legitimate doctor should be encouraging sick patients to come in when they are clearly unwell and uncomfortable. This was a huge red flag for me.
I only went through 1.5 months of treatment before finally listening to my gut about this place and having enough. When I called to cancel (over the phone) this weird āmembershipā they enroll you in, I was told I needed to come into the office to discuss any open bills. When I arrived, they put me in a private room with Dr. Park, who was condescending, dismissive, and relied on fear-mongering and scare tactics to try and pressure me into staying. I mentioned how uncomfortable the front desk staff had made me feel, and his response? āIf you want to come in, you donāt need to deal with her.ā Who says that about their own staff? When I firmly insisted that I would not be coming back, Dr. Park said he was ādischarging me,ā as if this were a hospital and not a chiropractic office. It was clear he just wanted to make it seem like he was in control of the situation, when in reality, it was my choice whether or not to continue their services.
At the end of the day, I just wanted my money back and to cancel my future appointments because coming here was making me uneasy. The ātreatmentsā they offer are completely cookie-cutter and impersonalāit feels like an assembly line where everyone is pushed through the same generic process with no real customization for individual needs.
This is nothing more than a money grab. The whole office reeks of pseudoscience, schemes, and scams. Do yourself a favor and learn from my mistakes. Please do more research to find a chiropractor who actually cares about patient well-being rather than trapping people in overpriced,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy journey with Pershing began in 2021 after I sustained a severe lower back injury during an intense hiking adventure. Before my first visit, I had only a vague idea of what chiropractic care involved, thanks to YouTube videos of doctors making intriguing adjustments. However, my initial encounter with Pershing completely changed my perception.
Upon arriving, I was welcomed at the front desk with warm, friendly smiles from the entire staff. They then guided me to Dr. Park's office, where he conducted a thorough assessment of my medical condition and explained the issues I was facing, along with potential treatment options. Dr. Park's ability to convey complex information in an informative and compassionate manner made it easy for someone with limited medical knowledge like myself to comprehend.
After that initial consultation, I opted for a treatment plan consisting of three sessions a week for three months. Throughout this period, the Pershing team never once failed to greet me with their trademark smiles. They consistently answered my questions with patience and accommodated my sometimes erratic schedule. Remarkably, my back showed dramatic improvement within those three months, and considering the physical demands of my job, I decided to continue visiting Pershing every two weeks.
However, due to a car accident and subsequent legal matters, I found myself compelled to seek the services of a different chiropractor, even though I didn't want to. It was during this time that I truly appreciated the exceptional effort that the Pershing team puts into patient care. While the new place I visited wasn't bad by any means, there were noticeable differences that set Pershing apart.
The genuine smiles, kind voices, and compassionate approach of the Pershing staff are truly top-notch. Dr. Park and Dr. Flores's dedication to patient well-being extends beyond their office. They provided valuable guidance on maintaining spinal health and establishing beneficial habits. The team at Pershing consistently displayed flexibility in scheduling, responding promptly and kindly, even through text messages.
If you're experiencing discomfort in your back, neck, shoulders, wrists, or any other area, don't delay seeking help. And if you happen to live near Pershing, I wholeheartedly recommend taking advantage of their exceptional care and paying them a visit. Your body will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn many ways, this office is a scam. First of all, while they may show a bunch of availability on ZocDoc, upon booking my appointment, they requested me to call them and ended up having to rescheduling me days ahead because they actually didn't have availability anywhere as close to as shown on ZocDoc. Second of all, they do not do actual chiropractic alignment treatment during your first appointment. Their excuse is that Dr. Park needs to evaluate you first. (But why not do both?) The first appointment is basically a wannabe-mental-health-therapy/life-coach-ish style of appointment where Dr. Park tries to establish himself as your "coach." It's not enough to say doing X gives you pain. He wants to know HOW the pain makes you FEEL emotionally. You need to tell him in your own words why you don't like pain. You can say he's being empathetic and trying to get the full picture, but honestly this is just a way to fill up the appointment time without doing actual treatment. He also says condescending things like "repeat after me" and quizzes you on medical jargon as he explains what the chiropractor philosophy is about, which ends up taking time and is very annoying. When he finally does do the physical exam (which only takes about 3 minutes by the way), he does not tell you all his findings. This is where the scam especially is clear: He said I needed to book an appointment IMMEDIATELY for the next day and only during that appointment will he tell me 1) if his office can even help me with my problem, 2) how long it will take to fix the problem, and 3) how much it will cost/insurance coverage. Excuse me? I need to book a second appointment for you to be upfront with me about if you can even fix my issue? And not only that, but he also then tries to sell CBD oil that happens to be readily available in his office. I overheard it costs $60. And he puts pressure to buy the oil even if you don't want it, asking why you don't want it and explaining how he's a doctor and knows what will work. I can understand why he has great reviews: the staff is friendly and he's a huge sweet talker. But please don't fall for this. Healthcare providers need to be honest and upfront about if they can fix your problem, how long it will take, and your insurance coverage without you needing to book a second appointment. Also, him pushing to sell product in his office is a...
