Fort Myer Old Post Chapel — Attraction in Arlington

As a local videographer, I regularly visit the Old Post Chapel to film weddings and memorial services. It's a very quaint and special place in a quiet part of the Ft Myer base. The gate to Arlington National Cemetery is adjacent to the chapel which is very convenient for family members to follow the caisson to a burial site. There is a large parking lot opposite the chapel. One word of advice - be sure to allow extra time to be processed through security at the Hatfield Gate. Love this place. I had my wedding there and it was perfect. Calm and beautiful!!! Perfect for a small morning wedding. We had everything on site. We had our rehearsal dinner at one of the restaurants in the military base. My family, the bridal party and I stay at the hotel since my wedding was in the morning and the our reception was at the one of the clubs. We choose the small club since it would be more private....

Nice location for events. Clear demarcation for parking with no curbs you may get trapped behind if you're joining a funeral procession- a nice feature. Entrance to Arlington Cemetery is immediately next to this chapel so it is easier to stay.with...
