Where to begin? Each week, tired and disheveled, I roll down the window of my 2005 Toyota as it sputters to a stop at the drive thru. I am usually unshowered and wearing at least one stain of baby spit up. My husband came home early...nows my chance... As a peasant of meager earnings, I allow myself few worldly pleasures...the coffee at this local establishment is one. I am greeted by either a blonde or brunette beauty, it doesn't matter. She has a card machine in hand. My order is the same. A white chocolate mocha and six heavenly salted caramel mini donuts. I can't bring myself as of yet to try another confectionery delight on the menu for fear of missing the warm, sensual pleasure of the mini donuts. I let fate decide if the hot caffinated liquid of the 16 oz mocha will wear the royal cap of the cold whip cream. My philosophy is simple: if the barista asks if I'd like some whip, I get it. If she doesn't, I don't, and it is a sign from the universe to take it easy...do not delight too much in the pleasures of Eden. As my car rolls past the window, coffee in hand, I take my sip. It takes the connective tissue in my brain a moment to process what my heart knows is true: this is not Folgers. This is not Folgers. This is not Folgers. No...it's far greater. Dopamine is released as the high quality caffeine courses through my pulsating veins. I remember: I am alive. I take a bite of mini donut. Each time I promise to save at least one for my husband...and each time I fail. I eat them all in a privacy so sacred it could be compared to Sunday morning prayer. As I make the 8 minute drive back to my humble home, these words reverberate in my heart and soul: thank you. Thank...
Read moreI have been going here for about 5 years and love the location next to the Arlington airport. As most customer service jobs go, the baristas do too. It's been such a rapid decline though over the last 6 months with no remaining original baristas. The friendliness and quality of food and drinks has gone from my normal 4-5 star rating to a 2 at best. The new baristas are snotty, rude and have such bad attitudes. I've given it numerous chances, with cold centered burritos and poorly done coffee and today I decided to ask for them to reheat the burrito. Although they made it right by getting me a new one, I was met with rude girls, a closed window and denial that my food was cold.
Unfortunately, I won't be giving my money to this...
Read moreThe Walkers near me closed down so when I found some stamp cards that were complete I searched and found they were at this location. I had asked the barista to combine the cards and then ordered my drink. Well by the time I added a small tip and paid, I realized she never used my $3 from my completed stamp card. I told her when she got back to the window and she told me she could change it. The payment went through though so she COMPLETELY IGNORED ME and walked to the back and tried not to make eye contact with me. She literally just exited the whole conversation we were having. I kinda stared at her the whole time thinking she was going to do something but she instead ran away to the other...
