Zona Caliente Sports Bar And Grill — Restaurant in Arlington

Complete disaster! The place looked really cool from the online pics and had good online reviews so I figured we would try it out. First of all I called and asked if they would have Sunday NFL Ticket for the first Sunday of football in which they told me yes (I'll get back to that). Two of us get there at 11:15am and are told by I assume a female manager they don't open on Sundays until noon which would make them the only sports bar on the planet to do that. Of course they false advertise on the board right behind her that says "Sunday happy hour is from 11am to 7pm". Anyway she says they can open early at 11:45am so we decide to wait instead of coming up with a last minute change and telling our other friends to go somewhere else. We finally sit down and they only have two games on. I ask if they are going to put the rest of the games on and our waitress said yes. A few minutes later I see the manager messing with remote controls and puts a college football game on while frantically trying to call someone. About 20 minutes later I ask the waitress again and she said they will get to it when they can. We order food. We finally get food. I notice the other tables with obvious football fans leaving. I see the manager and I ask her what's going on with the other games. She says "we don't have Sunday NFL Ticket I'm so sorry". I could tell that she was in the dark about it so I decided not to yell at her even though I was furious. We start to discuss going somewhere else but we couldn't immediately because we just got our food and had full beers. So I forced down the absolute worst barbacoa tacos I have ever had. Bland, greasy and huge pieces of fat. I didn't even mess with the the rice and beans since it tasted like bland slop. We finally got out of there and went somewhere else but an hour and a half was wasted. I will never ever go...

Very disappointing. My family has been eating Zona wings for about 4 years now and I figure it would be great if me and some friends got some while I was back in town. No.

We walk in and they ask us to choose our table so we choose the booth. Although looked clean from the front, completely filthy with sticky grime all over the table, but we over look it. The waiter comes over and asks us for drinks and we all get waters. My water comes and has some kind of mystery sauce all over the top of the cup and food particles stuck to the inside of the cup. I ask the waiter respectfully for another cup and she offers to just wipe it off with a napkin. Seriously!? I ask for another water again and she is now irritated with me with subliminal non verbals.

My friend then asks for chicken tenders with fries and another asks for fried pickles as a an appetizer. The appetizer never came even up until we left. When the food came, the fries were immediately cold, like… cold cold. And the chicken tenders although smelled good, they were cold on the inside. Man what is this some hot/cold chicken special?

We immediately offer a refund and the manager… THE MANAGER came over and asked what was wrong and we told her about the food, service and horrible attitude of our waiter and she went to process the refund and SHE even rolled her eyes so far up I thought they were gonna get stuck.

The only good thing was the understanding officer that was present at the time. This is my first review ever and I’m coming from the military, where we have horrible conditions in the field but this… this I wasn’t gonna stand for. If it wasn’t for that officer I would’ve even be writing this and I’m not here to deter anyone from Zona. But Zona… do better. This is not only nasty and grimy, but...

If you go there with friends you will most likely be charged extra for something or they will forget something and still charge you.

You can’t miss the manager he’s always there on his phone with his weird Spiked gelled hair, depending on who you are or who your with will depend on how he treats you. I say this because if you decide to eat there you will most likely end up talking to him about some sort of issue.

The Servers are a big hit or miss, depending on if they can hear you over the music Is what can alter what your order is. (That’s me giving them the benefit of the doubt). Just note if they do mess up, depending on the waitress she will argue with you. The girls there can have a attitude not saying they should but if you run them the wrong way they will.

JUST NOTE: They will almost always have Gratitude Added when you go with friends, even if you Split checks.

The place is Always clean, and their Security guards are actually usually nice more then the girls sometimes, just make sure you have your IDs.

Just know if you go there for food it will always take a good amount of time it isn’t ever so quick, the deal are good to if you decide to dine in. Knowing there maybe issues. Score would have been higher I just have had so many issues there but I only still get the wings because low key they make some good...
