We decided to eat at Catalpa after attending a local event. Turns out, this is a great idea!

We were fortunate that we went when we did because the restaurant filled up quickly. The service was excellent even though they were packed.

I had the Santa Fe burger and the spicy pickles and onions for the side. My wife and son shared the three cheese pizza.

The food took time coming, but I don't hold that against them. At times, it was standing room only.

The burger came on a flat bread style bun. The meat filled the bread completely, and I truly enjoyed the jalapeños and the sauce. The pickles were crunchy and delicious with a mild heat.

The pizza was the star of the show with, almost, cartoon like strings of cheese stretching from the slices. The flavors were amazing, and the little touch of honey came through while you ate.

Crispy, chewy, creamy, sweet, there aren't enough adjectives to describe this pizza.

After hiking the trail all day we thought a quick shower and walk into town for a bite at what appeared to be a laid back easy place to eat would be lovely.... Boy we were wrong! "Do you have a reservation?" "We are a fine dining establishment" all said with the millennial eye roll and dripping distain. The shock and horror on the hostess face was enough for us! Yes, we went in without a reservation, and while clean, probably a little rough looking... Or maybe it was our little one tagging behind... But quite quickly we were told we were not the type of people they wanted there and ushered out the door. If your website and links actually looked like a fine dining establishment we wouldn't have bothered, the pics of the food looked rather mediocre to us, so we took a chance... Figured it couldn't be worse then McDonald's... HA! No Michelin Star people! On the plus side, just a couple of doors down is the best ice cream shop that is both welcoming...
