First off, counter service - yes yes yes. Nova needs a lot more of this. My favorite restaurant structure. I don't want to pay 20% more to fill my water cup and get a napkin.
Service - perfect. They know the menu. They're nice but not like they've got something to sell you. Couldn't praise it more. I was supported but unbothered. Friendly greeting on the way in and out.
Value - Out of this world. The prices are just beyond fair. Tbh, maybe too good. And when you get that portion, you'll flip. You're leaving here full. Guaranteed.
Now that's out of the way, I can talk about this knockout food. Delicious. Flavorful. Comes out hot, crispy, whatever it should be. And without the tableserver leaving it in the window for 8 minutes. You get this the way the chef wants you to and they are WISE.
I got the Hera, a decision I made after stressing out because literally every sandwich they offer looks insanely good. I need to come back 15 more times minimum. Hera is Panko-Crusted Chicken topped with creamy ala-vodka sauce, melted mozzarella, and hand-grated parm on a toasted sub.
And I promised myself I was only getting the Hera but then the table next to me had their Medusa's Nest delivered and I can't see graphic foodie action like that without getting a taste. So I got that, too. Crispy fried onion straws topped with spicy Greek herb blend, Romano cheese, and a house spicy creamy feta sauce.
I don't have more words to offer. When a place is perfect, it's just perfect. Go eat here. This is now your hole in the wall, lunch, dinner, friends,...
Read moreI stumbled into this place after seeing it mentioned in a few Reddit threads about the best "hidden gem" restaurants in Nova and ho-lee jeez, they did not disappoint. First off, the A/C was broken on the day I visited, but the staff were in there diligently bustin' their butts despite the heat. After ordering, my friend and I chatted with the guy who took our orders for a minute and mentioned it was our first time trying the place.
As we waited, I saw a display with some of the biggest pieces of baklava I've ever seen, and I pointed them out to my friend and said, "Oh, I'm gonna have to try one of these next time." Then, one of the cooks came around from the back with the biggest burrito I've ever seen on a platter and told my friend, "Takeout doesn't do it justice...I wanted you to see this before I had to fit it in the box." That kind of pride in his work really struck me, and there was a lot to be proud of.
I ordered the Hercules gyro pita and it was an absolute monster. I had no idea how to approach it, but managed to devour it all the same. If you're hungry, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to leave this restaurant unsated.
And the best part...when I opened up the bag to start eating, I found that this sneaky Greek had slipped in one of those giant baklava on the house, and oh my goodness it was amazing!
What a wonderful customer experience for my first time visiting this restaurant. A+ food, A+ service...this place has definitely earned a spot in my rotation, and I can't believe I'm only just now...
Read moreGreek Unique, once a local favorite, appears to be struggling, with a recent visit revealing a noticeable dip in food quality and an extremely uncomfortable dining environment. It seems the restaurant has lost its fervor, and the passion that once defined it is noticeably missing. The primary disappointment was the decline in food quality. Dishes that were once vibrant, fresh, and perfectly seasoned now tasted unremarkable. Ingredients didn't seem as fresh, and the preparation lacked the attention to detail that Greek Unique was known for. This drop in standards is a real shame, as it removes the main reason for returning to what was previously a reliable spot for authentic Greek cuisine. Adding to the poor food experience was the truly unpleasant atmosphere inside the restaurant. The dining area was unbearably hot, feeling as though warm air was being directly vented toward the seating area. To combat this heat, loud fans were running, creating a distracting and noisy environment that made conversation difficult. The combination of the stifling heat and the constant din of the fans made the whole experience feel rushed and deeply uncomfortable. In its current state, Greek Unique is difficult to recommend. The uncomfortable, overheated interior and the clear decline in the quality of the food suggest a loss of focus and enthusiasm. They need to address both the kitchen standards and the basic comfort of their dining room to recapture the loyal following they...
