My main reason for rating this low has to do with your service. I believe for a restaurant to prosper long term, the service needs to be excellent and servers needs to be cordial especially at the front table.
Today April 25th, 2025 at 7:06pm EST based on my receipt, myself and my sibling ordered two plain virgin Pina Colada and I specifically said THREE times to the server "Please do not add the cherry or any strawberry flavor". She also repeated what i said which indicated she understood my simple request.
After 15mins, I returned to pick my order at 7:23pm EST, got my food from her but then, I did not receive the drinks. So I requested for the drinks and she went to get it. When she brought it to me, I noticed that there was cherry on top in my drink and i think either strawberry or cherry jam/jelly was spread on the drinks so I said to her "I'm sorry but can you please change it, I am allergic to cherry and I told you that I cannot have cherry on my drink and I wanted the drink plain"
To my surprise, the server said to me"I do not know why you are making a big deal out of it, just scoop it out. We are really busy and we cannot make another one" and she started throwing tantrums literally in front myself and my sibling as well as another customer. I tried to calm her down but she was being absolutely condensing and out of control yapping at us. At that point, I had to tell, I won't take the drinks and she has to please change it. So she angrily walked away with the drinks, went straight to the bar and was throwing her tantrum to the male server and also a female server and pointing at us as they were laughing. I was in awe and was saying "what's happening" the server went from 0-100 real quick, gosh! It is really a sad sight to see honestly because I tipped her prior. Almost as if I was rewarding a BAD behavior. I finally got my drinks and respectfully walked away with no intention of returning to this restaurant. Kindly advice your servers on good manners and etiquette, it goes a long way for...
Read moreWe were there for an early dinner and there were only about 3 other groups there. We were seated right away and ordered quickly but it took a while for our food to come. It wasn't a huge wait but longer than expected for the amount of guests there at the time. My daughter ordered the chimichangas and proclaimed them "yummy", other daughter ordered the kid's quesadilla and said it was "ok" hubby ordered the pork carnitas and said it was "very good." I was disappointed that they did not offer cheese enchiladas but ordered a vegetarian burrito. It was ok. I was disappointed with the frozen sangria margarita. We might find ourselves here again since the kids liked it and it's across the street from the movie theater but it wouldn't be my first choice. Very nice ambience though.
*Update- I recently went back to this restaurant as I had told a friend about my experience here and she mentioned that they "had gotten better". We were there during happy hour and they had a good selection of happy hour margaritas although I chose to have a Mangoneada Margarita. It wasn't on the Happy Hour menu so I paid full price which was $8.75 which still isn't bad for a margarita in this area. My friend ordered a Frozen mango margarita from the HH menu and was very pleased with hers. Mine was quite a bit bigger and very good! We had only chips and queso and nachos so I can't really comment on the food; however, the service was much better and I will definitely be returning for another Mangoneada...
Read moreI love this place and consider it my go to place when I'm having a bad day or want to be pampered. From the beautiful decor from Guatemala to the friendly staff and manager to the wonderful food...it is always within our top 3 choices. From the start, we are greeted by a cheerful smiling face who says welcome back and asks us where we would like to sit as we try to sit in the various areas to enjoy the decor. I love coming at night when it's all lit up...it's so bright, cheerful and eye catching that it's a visual feast to just look around. They make a great pineapple margarita on the rocks and I love their queso with chorizo...which is the only queso to not make me sick. Today we had the paella de la casa and the Mexican jambalaya for dinner followed by the GF Mexican lava cake on top of a fried ice cream ball...all fresh, cooked just right and with great flavor. I also love their fajitas and try the molcajetes which are so worth it arriving at the table in a lava rock bowl. The pricing is actually very competitive next to say a Uncle Julio's and they have very generous portions...one of the few places we ever have leftovers. The servers we've had like Fernando and Solomon have been great at making sure we are doing well constantly. Their manager Mario has done a great job with the place and people...making this a great place for Mexican food. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area...we do and...
