Sweeten Creek Brewing — Restaurant in Asheville

Update 9/27/2020 - Sweet Cheesus is gone. Saturday they had a lobster food truck. They have built a covered patio off the brewery which is great so you can be there rain or shine. Review for Sweeten Creek Brewery and Sweet Cheesus - we went for lunch and a drink. It was great b/c our pup could come inside in the winter. Been before and plenty of outdoor areas for dogs too. They have nice beer according to my beer drinking husband. They offered several flavors of Flat Rock Cider for gluten free patrons. The food menu is great. Very healthy and tasty. No chips or french fries. But they have Raclette which is awesome - which is glorified melted cheese! I had the turkey sliders with no buns and they put on a bed of sauteed veggies. Very tasty. My hubby had the macaroni with thai chicken which he was very pleased with and of course both had a scrape - which is the cheese. Great 80s music. Loved...

Looked online and the menu looked great for vegan options. Unfortunately upon arriving I was given nothing but attitude about vegan options. Was told they don't have much in sides for vegans but I could do the baked potato & side salad. Really disappointing.

Ordered the vegan meatloaf which actually was really good. That was the ONLY good part. The "baked potato" was literally just a whole potato.... Would have been good to know because I would never serve that if I was a restaurant owner. Almost as bad was the "side salad" with old greens AND NO SALAD DRESSING? Pure waste of money. We visited this brewery over the weekend, and while it might appeal to some, it wasn’t quite our vibe, so we won’t be returning. Parking is a bit of a hassle, and even if you find a spot, you’ll likely deal with entitled patrons who don’t respect personal space. When ordering beer, be prepared to stand uncomfortably close to others, as people don’t hesitate to cut in line. The large outdoor area is packed with kids, which might be great if you need a place for your child to run around or throw a tantrum, but not ideal for those looking to relax.

On the positive side, the brewery does offer food, and though the BBQ wasn’t open, there was a food truck serving up some tasty Mexican street food. The beer selection was solid, and the...
