First, the atmosphere is very antiseptic. Hard wooden tables and chairs, limited space and seating. They make it obvious they prefer a take out customer base. Service was okay. Nothing special. Food was mediocre at best. I love experiencing Chinese cuisine everywhere I go but my 24 years in the San Francisco Bay Area have made a definitive impact on my expectations. The Midwest doesn't have proper Potstickers, they have steamed or deep fried dumplings, and the dumplings here are very substandard. The wrapper is very thick and the filling was minimal. The only saving grace to the dumplings was the dipping sauce. The Hot & Sour soup, while good, was minimally sour and not at all spicy hot. Lots of white pepper helped somewhat but it was still lacking. The two entrées I had were far too sweet for my taste. The Schezuan fried tofu was supposed to be spicy hot but was devoid of any heat and almost syrupy in sweetness. The tofu was, at best, unique. Dipped firm tofu in a batter then deep fried until hot, the outside of the tofu had a slight crispness but the interior was soft and some were almost slimy in texture. The other entrée was the Hunan Triple Crown, assorted mixed vegetables with chicken, shrimp, and roasted pork, in a spicy brown sauce. Neither dish had any heat, but the Triple Crown was a massive disappointment, the level of sweetness was far too high. I know Americans like their Chinese food sweeter but this was just too much.
I'm not saying get rid of the Americanized dishes, some people just like it, but there are plenty of us who appreciate authentic cooking, so I would strongly suggest that if a customer comes in with their own chop sticks and other urltensiles, offer them a more authentic version of these dishes, they, and I, would be...

Will definitely be back. Very good food for the value. Was very surprised on the amount and quality of the meat in the Szechuan Triple Crown. Yes it was a little pricey but worth it.
The only down sides were the egg rolls and the amount of sauce on the Szechuan. The egg rolls were very golden brown but saturated in oil. The oil taste overpowered the filling and duck sauce I put on them. My last bite oil dripped on my shirt. The sauce issue is probably my fault due to not eating rice with it. Nothing that can't be fixed next time. Restaurant is more suited for small groups and carry out. Only about 15 seats available. Over all very filling...
Read moreWe drove up to Ashland from Dayton to surprise my boys grandmother for her birthday, and this is where she chose to go for her birthday dinner. They have a small dining area, very small however it was nice as we were the only group dining in and were able to enjoy one another's company, the place is clean and food was delicious, portions were quite large...definitely meant to be shared more so than a meal for 1 in my opinion. The staff made sure we were taken care of and were very nice. Parking was easy as theres not much else in the shopping center nearby, we had 2 vehicles and were both able to park up front.I would definitely recommend this place for anyone in the Ashland area. :)
♿️ Their grandma was in a wheelchair and was able to get around with ease. May be difficult for anyone in an electric scooter, depending on...
