Caliente Pizza & Drafthouse — Restaurant in Aspinwall

So 2 things service & food.1st) Like a lot of reviews for calientes the staff HAS NO IDEA how to talk with customers! With anything from questions about seating (was told " just go sit somewhere" & then after sitting 5 min later the bartender came over & TOLD us to move not asked if we could please take another table but TOLD us you can't sit here. When asked why he just walked away) or even questions about using coupons that they sent me but didn't work ( this has happened before & each time we always get attitude for apparently inconveniencing an employee who is asked to do what they get paid to do?!?) after multiple bad experiences with delivery thought it be better to just go WRONG. 2nd) living just 3 minutes away from the restaurant and a family who loves pizza we have ordered from here 4 times (with groans & complaints from the whole family cause every time it's been a struggle to find 1 redeeming thing about our order) We kept thinking "well maybe they've improved" but clearly as you can tell by reviews they just keep doing it & send everyone the generic "we will address our staff this is not how we do things" our order always takes 2 hours to get here (I've had Uber drivers call me & say I've been waiting here a long time after the time the food was supposed to be ready & they had to cancel my order cause it was messing with everyone else's orders so I had to go pick it up & I still ended up walking to get it & didn't get so much as a sorry) every time I've been missing food, the food is wrong or my favorite they are out of what I ordered so they just send me something else ( don't call & say " sorry we're out of that what else would you like" they just decide for us. So I ordered the meemaw because it was highly recommended. It was a contest winner and I figured since it was their signature well-loved pizza, I'd get it for my first time eating here

The focaccia was very oily. It was okay. Focaccia but it was more focaccia than like Sicilian style pizza. There was barely any sauce. The vegetables and seasoning was okay and there was parmesan on it. They got it melted but not quite crisp and it was just okay.

The pizza was very bland, like there was some flavor. Yes, but it didn't really taste like a pizza or feel like a pizza. It felt like I had loaded some toppings onto a slice of focaccia bread, which I love me a focaccia pizza or Sicilian style pizza.

This didn't feel like either of those. It just did not mesh well at all. And honestly I think I've had better frozen pizzas than this pizza. Normally I like to give a place two or three times to really make sure that everything is consistent.

But with the flavorless zucchini planks and the very bland hush puppies, I don't know if I can in good conscience bring my money back. Maybe I'll try them again in a few months and then update my review. But as it stands right now, this is not a place that I would recommend or say was worth the money or anything based on my experience with it.

The meemaw wasn't the first choice that I had, but the pizza that I wanted that was listed on their website wasn't available and hadn't been available for a while so I couldn't go with that one, but I decided to give him a fair try anyways. Ordered from here yesterday night It was such an aggravating experience dealing with the Aspinwall location the customer service from a “manager “ at that was horrible , i had to call three times just to place my order from gettin hung up on then when i do get my order taken the person reads back my which was perfect just how isaid it when i went to pick up they didn’t know who iwas what i ordered something told me to check the order it was completely wrong after a 15 minute call i would think that the employees would atleast tell me the right prices and what’s going on the call i was told my pizza came with two toppings and i would pay for the third granted i don’t mind spending money that’s what we do to support other local businesses anywho my order was completely wrong i explained that and the manager had the worst attitude and said they aren’t gonna double make pizza lol that wasn’t my problem my problem was really i can’t eat past 8 i order food to enjoy my last meal before surgery and i didn’t get it so i ask for a refund and this lady had the nerve to tell me they are not refunded me because do the the order confusion they had to make three pizzas again not my problem u should have staff that can take orders correctly especially if i was kind to them and understanding.
