I have had multiple bad experiences here and each time it has been the same: we get seated and then wait for over ten minutes for someone to check on our table, they never do, and so we walk out. Exact thing happened today. I was seated on the patio by a hostess. It was 3 pm on a Sunday so it wasn’t busy nor was it empty. No one came to my table— well actually a guy in a Blast n Brew shirt walked up and took a chair from my table without saying a word, such as “may I take this chair?” Or “are you expecting more in your party?” Nope. Just walked up and stole the chair without even acknowledging me. Then a girl server checked on another table and looked right at me as she walked back inside. I almost thought she might come over and ask “have you been helped?” But no, apparently that level of customer awareness does not exist at this establishment. No one bothered to even just bring me a water.
It’s a shame because the times we have had service, the people have been very friendly, so I assume this is some sort of problem with management not having procedures in place to ensure that customers who show up actually get a server in a reasonable amount of time.
Mostly I am posting this because I am rooting for them to improve. Their patio is great and they have one of the biggest and most diverse selections of both food and beer/wine/cocktails in town. But it really doesn’t matter how big or great their menu is if no one ever comes over to ask you what you would like to...
Read moreBlast and brew is very good, the staff seems friendly, full bar, house wines and good brews on tap. The food seems to get better every time I go and full of flavors and not bland. I had heard mix reviews at their opening and stayed away for awhile till they got more established but now I can easily see this becoming a regular spot in my rotation for a good Alfredo pasta, burger or brussel sprouts with blue cheese. Can be a bit pricey for two people with two drinks but the service is kind and the portions are generous and a good place to sit down for an hour or two and catch up with friends or family. Kid friendly, a good spot to watch a game like football and a calm atmosphere with warm decor. And sometimes have live music. I highly recommend it. The only thing I would say is the Alfredo sauce isn't always consistent. Sometimes it's light and very airy and sometimes its VERY dense. So unfortunately it can be a hit or miss depending on your sauce liking. So if they can hone in on a nice middle ground on the sauce consistency, it would be one of the best... Or perhaps THE best alfredo's that are out there for the town. Chicken or prawn as a choice, the meats are well flavored and good pasta to meat ratio. The flavor of the prawns was very delish! Thus far, all my visits have...
Read moreThe fries were the best part of my meal. I was very excited to try this establishment. Perhaps my anticipation of expectation is what ultimately made it difficult for me to give this place a 5-star review. I really love barbeque in general. I ordered a highly-refreshing cocktail, the 'Boogie Nights'. It was well balanced and well received at $12. I am also a lover of onion rings; preferably hand-made. The onion ring tower, while beautifully presented with a side of ranch and barbeque sauce just wasn't house- made. I'm fairly certain the onion rings are from a frozen bag and deep fried to order. I also ordered the Santa Maria Tritip sandwich on sour dough deli bread. The bread greatly overwhelmed the thick stack of beef. I only ate a portion of the heel with the sandwich and quickly decompromized to get to the meat. The meat was well cooked, but, lacked that wow factor that barbeque should have. The meat was more on the drier side, and while tasty, I found myself drizzling small amounts of barbeque sauce to make it 'better'. My service was pretty good, and the server was energetic and welcoming. I'll likely return to try other items just to see if barbeque is not really this locations forté. I've had better, and I have definitely...
