The food is just not for me, but I could not give them less than 3 stars, basically because I just can't do that to anyone who is out there trying and risking on themselves in business.
From a palate only review, I would not be so generous. We tried them tonight to give them a chance. Sadly, we probably will not go back. I will begin with the positive. The staff was very kind and polite. The Drunken Noodles were perfectly spicy and quite tasty. I would order that again, but it would begin and end with that. The white rice was gooshy and without flavor. The Coconut Chicken Soup, which is normally my "go to" entree when I am starving, just didn't cut it. There was only coconut flavor and no other Thai spices such as root or lemongrass that I typically crave in a Thai soup. The red curry tasted more like pumpkin stew with no curry flavor or spice whatsoever. We couldn't even finish it and trust me, I'm usually holding myself back from eating too much of that stuff for fear my stomach would explode. Unfortunately for Gogo Thai, this wasn't the case.
Im supposing if you are not a Thai fanatic, you may enjoy the bland influence of their cuisine. As for those of us who regularly enjoy a deliously devourable, Thai meal, this is probably not where you are going to find it. Please go back for the drunken noodles though. They were pretty tasty. Hopefully Gogo Thai will be able to improve the rest of their entrees. It's a tough gig out there in the restaurant world, so I really hope they can pull...
Read moreMy husband and I had a late lunch here on Tuesday 7/15/2025. It was the WORST food we've ever had, Thai or not. There is nothing Thai about the meals. We ordered potstickers, green curry with chicken, Thai BBQ chicken, and chow mein (which is not really Thai but my husband wanted it). The green curry had a weird after taste, like soap, and no sign of fish sauce - just because you use curry does not make it Thai. The BBQ chicken was awful - slivers of dark meat that bore no resemblance in taste to Thai BBQ we've had elsewhere - it didn't even taste like chicken, and the chow mein was equally awful. It's obvious no effort was made to make this food deserving of our time, and it was our first time here too. We left everything on the table after a couple of bites. Thank goodness for the barely decent potstickers - it was the only thing we ate.
We did give the server her tip - she was apologetic, and we did pay for the meal, which was a waste of money. We could have refused to pay in retrospect. Leaving this bad review is a favor to the community. We have enjoyed excellent Thai food in the Bay Area for decades, so we do know Thai food. This place is an insult to people who know good Thai food and to those who think Thai food is supposed to taste like this.
The female server was nice enough; the guy server was not friendly - did not say hello when he brought over the...
Read moreI only ordered the pork red curry and the Thai tea, and they were so great. Thai tea was one of the best I’ve ever had, not too milky (that’s coming from someone who usually likes extra milk in theirs) and no sour aftertaste like I’ve had with others, great warm flavor. And this is coming from someone who’s tried countless Thai places in Southern California. Red curry portion was huge, enough for two people. Could have had a little bit more meat and salt (by itself it’s great but when you eat anything with a carb it should be a little more strong to compensate IMO, unless it’s not traditionally eaten with rice? I’m no expert) but that doesn’t necessarily take away from it. Attentive servers, I came just past 8 but they seemed busy till it closed with people still there and told me not to rush at all. The interior is soooo cute and inviting, with windows all around in the bigger room so the atmosphere is great. Also a group of smaller tables for parties of two/one (me haha) which was a welcome surprise. If I’m ever craving Thai food when I’m back up here this will...
