Decided to give this new local coffee shop a chance, as it is just down the road from my house. Walked in to see a clean store and friendly staff. I decided to go simple and order a large coffee, something one would expect any coffee shop could do. As I was the only one in the coffee shop, the barista turned around and poured me a coffee before the register had even rung it up. The barista rang up a "Large Americano" and my total was $7.15! I was so shocked I didn't even have time to process what had happened. Even if I was made a Large Americano, would three shots of espresso and hot water really be $7? Any other coffee shop in SLO County would hardly charge above $5.50 for a much more premium product. In addition, does the staff really think that charging over $7 for a drip coffee is okay?
Leaving the store, I felt scammed, but thought maybe I would give the coffee a try and see if it was really worth it. The coffee was bitter, acidic, and truly one of the worst coffee's I have had. I attempted two sips of the coffee black, tried to add cream and sugar, and then simply had to throw it away and stop at another coffee shop up the road. Really disappointing!
For their credit, the staff was friendly and seemed to really try to put out good service. I personally believe that management/ownership is failing them on their pricing. The other drinks on the menu looked similarly priced, but that is much more in line with prices around the area. I may give this shop another chance if I see that the menu online is updated with a properly priced drip coffee, or I may have to try another espresso drink. Let's hope they adjust and prosper!
P.S. I hope that the management takes these reviews seriously, as seeing a 5 star review immediately after a 1 star review that calls into question the 1 star review seems to me like management just using someone that they know to write a fake review discrediting the...
Read moreI’ve been a few times, trying to give new local business a shot. You’ve got potential, but you need to do some training with your barista‘s.
A 12oz latte should not have 6 ounces of liquid and 6 ounces of foam. Proper milk frothing/steaming technique is critical for good drinks.
If I order a quad shot, I expect a quad shot. What I got was a double shot of espresso + a double shot of dirty/bitter water! Pushing the button to run the same shot again is not acceptable.
You have a good roast coffee and potential for good drinks (I’ve had good drinks from you before), but you’re charging a premium price which demands you deliver a consistent premium product. Hopefully this is just a training issue and...
Read moreThe hours state they are open at 6 am. I have been by 2 times in the last week; once at 6:10 & again at 6:15. The first time all the chairs were still upside down on the tables and the barista was leaning against the counter texting. I didn't go in as it looked like she wasn't prepared to make the place look something other than closed. The second time, again, the chairs were still on the tables and there was noone behind the counter. If your hours state you are open at 6am then the place needs to look like it is OPEN for business. I will try it again because I believe in second (third?) chances. I hope the coffee is a...
