My best friend and I wanted to try something new, and we found that La Mexicana was a walkable distance to us. I'm not sure why we haven't tried it before, but the food here is GOOD. Hot and fresh, I'd usually take a picture before eating, but it was so good I couldn't help but start eating before I took the picture. There was more food before my best friend and I started. We ordered the platter for dinner (around $25-29). Sharing it was not an issue whatsoever. We couldn't finish it by the end. The proportions are Costco levels, which make it so good for the price. Could realistically feed three people in my opinion, unless you were really hungry. The waiters and people inside were so kind, and we didn't even have to try to ask them anything. They were always generous and helping. The atmosphere feels really inviting, something cozy and comfortable for a enjoyable experience. Feels like you're walking into a family restaurant. Overall, if you're on a budget, order the platter and share. You won't regret it! :D

We stopped for breakfast and we're good we did. The chilaquiles were amazing: crispy tortilla chunks, perfectly cooked beans, eggs lightly scrambled into the mixture, topped with ranchero sauce and cheese. We also ordered the pozole, which arrived in a huge bowl with a side of small tostadas and beans with cabbage, cilantro, and onions to put in the soup. The spot is cozy, a little retro, and clean. Definitely a must visit, especially for breakfast.

I love menudo and this is the spot for it! The service was excellent as the waiter made us feel very welcome and was good with kids. Being a family of five it's always nice to go to places where the people interact with our kids as much as with us. I would have given five stars but my wife didn't rave about her food. I recommend the tripe soup. 😃

Ordered a Chile relleno a la carte, good value for the price. Best Chile relleno I have ever had, hands down. It had lots of cheese, the batter was flavorful and the sauce was excellent. Also ordered two cheese enchilada combo to go. Nice big portion. The beans were delicious, rice was light and fluffy, enchiladas were amazing. The chips however were stale.. I'm sure the chips are fresh during the day. I did go late, 30 mins before closing. The restaurant was empty and there was no music playing. The decor is a little plain. Nice comfy booths with plenty of room for a big guy. My Modelo cheladas were very good as well. I'll definitely be back and recommend the Chile relleno to anyone who...
