KFC — Restaurant in Athens

We were stuck in the drive-through for 40 minutes, and still had 3 cars ahead of us. One of us checked inside, and there were people sitting unhappily waiting for long periods for their food as well. Meanwhile, the staff was laughing and having a good time. I spoke with the manager and was told that door dash orders were coming in that needed filled first, and she had a new staff. She said she couldn't tell us how much longer it would be. We could not get out of the drive through line, as we were stuck by cars lined out to the street. Finally, after 40 minutes, all the cars behind us left and we were able to back up and leave as well. Hadn't even gotten to the order speaker after 40 minutes of being stuck in line!!! We went to a different restaurant's drive thru and had our food there within 5 minutes. I'll give them 5 stars because everyone knows KFC and it is hard not to like fried chicken. That said, I rarely ever go to KFC anymore. I feel like they have been chasing the idea of "value" along with everyone else at the expense of quality. I tend to order chicken sandwiches here, and before places like Raising Canes and Chik-fil-a they introduced a chicken sandwhich called the triple crunch which I really liked (could be some nostalgia mixed in with at the time college poverty influencing this recollection). I don't know what happened to it, but I wish they would bring back a proper premium sandwhich. It seems like every few years I go back and they have some new item which passes as a chicken sandwhich, and it just feels off. Update 072725; just now... good luck getting any kind of attention at the store today.. you stand at the counter for 10 minutes waiting on a pickup order you were notified was ready and they won't even acknowledge your existence.. how do they know you're not there to place a new order... Absolutely RUDE! Your food is bagged up getting soggy and cold while no one wants to stop and give it to you. Good food mostly but check your order.... We used to get home before we realized we were missing pieces or they'd substitute a couple dark meats for a breast and not ask if OK. This time we ordered 20 pieces extra crispy and my mom thought there's no way it's all in that bucket.. I pull in the parking lot and she counts a whopping 8 pieces.... $31+ for 8 pieces... Now waiting over 15 minutes to cook...
