My family and I love going to La Fonda but this location was a massive miss. One of the worst experiences I’ve had in a long time at any restaurant. When we got there, they were slammed and it was so confusing. We tried asking if we should wait to be seated or sit anywhere but they looked annoyed. We went to sit at one table inside but the workers immediately came up and moved it. We waited for a seat outside and sat down. Our server was the most unpleasant and just seemed like she hated us. We asked for drinks and then ordered. She had us repeat our order and then walked away as we were talking. From there, we didn’t see her again. The order so wrong and my quesadilla had bones in it (that hurt) we tried to grab her but she just watched us from the doorway. After asking the bus boy (very pleasant but swamped) for the check a few times, we just paid and stood to the side waiting for a family member in the bathroom. Finally our server walked over to us, asked if it was together or separate, looked at the table (i guess she saw the bill) and before we could answer she walked away. I was in shock. She then started to argue with another couple who was trying to ask the seating situation. Her name was Paula or Paulina. I wouldn’t be back to this location and will drive the 30 minutes to...
Read moreThis was my 2nd visit to this location, and it was the best! This time, I kelp it simple and elected to go with the chicken cuban sandwich and churros with the chocolate sauce! To my surprise, the sandwich came with black beans and rice, chips and salsa! OMG, the black beans and rice were the bomb and season to perfection! The chips were cold but I put them in my toaster overnight and they heated up nicely! The salsa was full of flavors despite being a bit on the waterly side! Now, the sandwich itself was a masterpiece when it came to taste! Just like the black beans and rice it was the bomb and paired very well with the extra pickles that I requested! Now the churros for me were a bit on the hard side and the chocolate sauce tasted more like chocolate pudding instead of a sauce! I had enough food to get me through three servings! I can see myself going back and trying another sandwich with the black beans and rice! For me, the key is keeping it...
Read moreAbsolutely trash food. As a former chef in NYC and with a specialization in Latin food and seafood I can not be more disappointment in my last meal in Atlanta. I grew up with Latin food my entire life, its my culture, this food was prepped with absolute carelessness and lack of flavor contents NOT even exceeding the simple flavors adobe could bring. Im more upset that I could only eat 3 bites of the paella, which is a staple meal in Spain and in other South American countries. I’m pissed that all I ate from that place was the bland chips and salsa as a last meal to such an amazing city. I am upset because the waitress, similarly to a comforting Tia, looked at me with an unfinished plate and drink was asking for feedback. All I could say was good bye. I don’t recommend this place for the life of me, unless you like old chicken, old seafood, and poorly...
