We made reservations the same day over the phone and had to pay $150 deposit that goes towards the final bill. I called my group and let them know for a large party of 12 we had to pay $150. As I was explaining to my friends the deposit price I got a call from the restaurant (this was someone different from the first call) asked are we going to book explaining that itâs gonna be $180. I asked why do I have to pay $30 extra when the person prior didnât mention anything extra it was just $150, I was told itâs tax. I explained to them that I never heard of taxes added to a deposit. Whatever we paid it because it was a special eventâŚâŚ.. we get there I ordered chicken and waffles because I seem someone at the table across from me and it looked good. Me & my friend plate came out and the chicken wasnât fried the same, the person across from us had Crispy fried chicken but ours was plain not dipped in flour/batter so we sent the plate back and explained to the owner. He took it back and came back with it dipped in batter. Only for us to break the chicken open and blood dripping out. Mind you it took 2 hours for all us to get our food At that point we didnât want anything else they tried to offer. I was so mad we waited hours just to get raw chicken. They took both of our plates off the tab. Now itâs time to pay (all on the same tab) they bring me the receipt only from the deposit I made over the phone for my signature, the receipt said $150 with a $30 gratuity added, I was so confused on why they charged me gratuity when I was told it was taxes. So the lady that told me it would be $180 she came to the table and was talking to my party and sheâs explaining to me why it say gratuity she said, Thatâs how the system rings it up but it is a service fee and taxes and I explained to her that it doesnât say taxes it says gratuity as if you are charge me $150 for the deposit and then you added a $30 gratuity on there when itâs a deposit and nobody serve me so why should I be paying gratuity on a deposit. We was all over it and just said forget it and paid. The atmosphere with the Dj is a vibe other than that the restaurant itself is horrible. I wouldnât eat here if the food was free. I could understand a bloody steak but chicken is a no for me. My friend ordered a strawberry mimosa everybody else had a strawberries on the top of theirs so she got hers and it didnât have her strawberries on it she told them she wanted her strawberries & they was mad. If you serve something with toppings serve it like that for everyone itâs simple. Iâll never eat here again. They act as if they could serve a large party and was so ready to take our deposit over the phone and when we got there the service and food was horrible! Iâll never eat there again! My first option was toast on Lennox because I love that place but we wanted to try something different and gave this place a tryâŚ.. horrible decision the building is small located and attached to a store where bums are begging for $âŚâŚ Im so mad I didnât take pics of the bloody chicken soon as I seen blood I immediately got up and walked the plate to them. 1 star is too high wish I...
Read moreSo here's my disclosure about this place. Been here many times and enjoyed my time at the bar with the bartender and had no problem bill whatever the cost was. Many times I would bring company with me and speak highly of a spot thats legit attached to a ghetto gas station! However, the last time will be my final time. On the weekends they have great DJs that mix very well and I love that and truly value people who take their craft seriously and want people to enjoy themselves. However, my final and last time went very unsatisfactory due to lack of listening and bad attitudes when you have promotions that should come off or don't make sense. To start, I asked specifically for a fries and wings flight. Maybe I need to repeat things so that people can hear what I am saying. When the food was to come out we asked for sauce on the side and the kitchen did not follow instructions causing a 20 minute delay on my order. We then proceeded to order an additional side of macaroni, which was spectacular. While waiting on my food i looked on yelp and saw there was a promotional offer and proceeded to inquire about it. Another lady proceeded to tell me they dont do it anymore, then proceeded to switch up and say thats the wrong location. Girl yall only got one location and id love to know how you get a free drink with and entree at a catering spot that is Owned by the SAME PEOPLE and it is right next door. Anywho.....Once the food came out while it was numerous wings, BUT I proceeded with my meal as it was very late. As we checked out I noticed I was charged for a completely wrong order that was essentially the UPCHARGE to my order aka 10 wings a piece WITH FRIES on the side vs 3 whole wings with fries. Now while someone would say $5 difference the point is you didn't listen and while I pointed out the incorrect charge and having being a repeat visitor who never had issues before it was highly upsetting to see them brush off this matter and pretend like it's whatever. Copy and noted. Another black business in Atlanta written off in my book due to poor handling of a matter that could've been dealt with more...
Read moreI have been following this business on Instagram for quite some time due to Funky Dineva. I knew it waa mostly a catering company but I was pleased to learn they actually opened a location to the public that was stationary and not mobile. Mobile catering is big here in Atlanta. Meaning they prepare food off site and then they throw up a post stating where you can pick up your food if you place an order. Pop up catering.
This location is basically three miles away but Ichose to do Uber Eats. I read nothing but great reviews so I figure why not give them a shot. I ordered the Barbecue Turkey Ribs (didn't know such a thing existed), Collard Greens flavored with Turkey meat, Sweet Potatoes. That was $14. I also ordered a side of Macaroni and Cheese $3.50.
I received my food and went to eating. There was also a piece of cornbread included. Next the greens. These are real Collard Greens full of turkey meat. If you don't like meat throughout your greens choose another option. They had a nice flavor. Next the sweet potatoes. At first glance they looked canned but after I tasted them I realized they were fresh. I was a little underwhelmed by the seasoning. Not enough nutmeg but they are also out of season. Next I tried the turkey ribs. I was trying to figure out what part of the turkey had a bone like this but this is part of the breast. Very moist and tender. The macaroni and cheese looked blah but the flavor was very good. The butter ooozed out of it.
All in all it was good. I just wish caterers would take the leap and season their food more. It would be nice if cornbread was on the menu as a side option. $14 is a bit steep for the amount of food but you can take it...
