Stopped in after a long rafting trip on a recommendation from my sister in law. Location doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is spacious enough and very welcoming inside. Decorated with photos of local outdoor adventure activities, it is comfortable without being "hokey" or overdone. The staff were immediately warm and friendly. I feel like they really cared about being hospitable and representative of the local culture. We were quickly seated and given menus and time to look over things. The selection was great. Americana offerings including fresh pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, BBQ, pastas and more. Many options named after local highlights and points of interest along the river. Ordered jalapeno poppers to start and was told about the special for the day. Their beer and wine selection had local craft favorites as well as some standards. As we decided what to order, the place filled in pretty well. It seemed like the locals and travellers passing through were all smiling and happy to be there. Many coming in and greeting the owner and other patrons. A small town's favorite spot to grab a bite. It was very nice. We decided on a BBQ bacon burger and their special of the day, a BBQ ribs dinner. Everything came out with good timing and was hot and fresh. The jalapeno poppers were well made and very impressive. The entrees were definitely made with love and care. The burger was well made and juicy. Homemade BBQ sauce and sweet potato fries. The ribs literally fell off each bone. Special shout out to the fresh green bean casserole. It tasted like they just made it. Not yesterday or last week, but that hour. Soo good. We seen some interesting dessert options in their display case and we settled on a slice of German chocolate cheesecake. Man, if you could go, just for a slice of that, you would not be sad. They should be selling this stuff to other restaurants. So well made and Rich and creamy. Perfect, hand made coconut goo with nuts topped the giant slice. After all was said and done, the price was very reasonable as well, lower than I would have expected for the quality and definitely lower than the same meal at a different restaurant. I will be back again. If you are nearby, I highly recommend...
Read moreThe Food and the Service are always top notch. We eat here regularly. We have tried just about everything on the menu. Nothing disappoints. The burgers and ribs are awesome. The specials like the butternut squash ravioli are spectacular. There is something for everyone. Pizza, sandwiches, pasta, bbq, and so much more. The salad bar is always so fresh and well stocked, I can't help but get a salad bar added to my entree everytime. My kids love going there, they not only enjoy all their choices in food they really look forward to the game room. Lori and Ray the owners run a great crew of people, the service staff works very hard and do an excellent job. I personally want to say Thank you to everyone who works and has worked at the American River Pizza Grill over the past couple of years, it helped make our decision to move to this area much easier. We Love This Restaurant...
Read moreFirst, there is outdoor seating, which is my main criteria for choosing a restaurant during this pandemic. The patio area is quite nice. The food is really good. I had a calamari appetizer, which was delicious. I had never seen calamari sticks before, so at first I thought they accidentally gave me cheese sticks, but nope - tasty tasty calamari. I also ordered a cheeseburger, and it was very good. The unsweetened ice tea was a little weak, but still good. I also sampled the jalapeno poppers my partner ordered, and they were quite good. She also enjoyed the chicken strips. I will definitely eat here again.
We've also ordered takeout, which has been a mostly good experience. Only once did we have an issue with getting our meal in a timely manner, but they were also busier than usual...
