The gentleman bartender was amazing! However no waitresses EVER came to our table. We ordered a beer and a specialty cocktail (watermelon wave) from the bartender after being seated at our table for 15-20 minutes. He seemed upset that no waitresses ever helped us and I don't blame him because he had to come off bar to assist us when there were people seated at the bar he could've been helping. The waitresses however seemed like their boy drama and what lunch options they may have today were more important than the customers in the restaurant. It was sad, because after we ordered our drinks the bartender came back and offered to take our food order. We ordered our appetizer of garlic edamame, 2 sushi rolls and a Hawaiian lunch plate. We got our edamame followed by the 2 sushi rolls maybe with 20-25 minutes of the drinks coming. I then waited another hour and my Hawaiian plate never came. We asked about it and the bartender said he would check after clearing all of my boyfriends sushi plates and he was finished with his meal. We ended up leaving after another 25 minutes with no Hawaiian plate and I had to leave hungry after watching my boyfriend eat his lunch and go somewhere else to get food for me. As we were trying to pay our tab the bubbly blonde waitress tried to usher us out with a very loud "bye, thankyou!" My boyfriend then responded "uhm? Can I at least pay first?" To which the other brunette waitress with a long braid down her back responded "wouldn't want to let another customer walk out without paying!" The cherry on top of the whole experience was when she asked if I wanted it to go after waiting over an hour so I could have a meal WITH my boyfriend not after him. The sprinkles had to be her offering it off to anyone who wanted it as we were walking out of the restaurant letting me know it was ready the entire time but no one brought it out. I heard the bell many times for what I presumed was my order, but the waitresses were to busy gossiping loudly across the restaurant to each other to bring the food out. I would give the experience a 1/5. The food that did get brought to us was amazing which makes this experience so bad due to poor hiring the food was 10/10 and the bartender that was pulling doubles all week and still came to help us was so amazing despite his terrible waitstaff crew. I would never sit down to eat here again until they hired people that actually give a damn. I know it's hard in this climate, and I was trying to be courteous as possible, but what they displayed was terrible. I just paid for what food we did eat and left. I hope the owner sees this and what the day to day is like when those servers are working because it was an embarrassment to the establishment and what they've worked to create. The ambiance is beautiful, the restaurant is beautiful, the food is amazing, the beer selection is crazy, and the waitstaff are sh*t. No better words. I would probably order takeout here, pending everything actually makes it into my order, but would never...
Read moreThe establishment seemed like a really cool place, the employees were great. This is my first time here and im just grabbing some fish and chips to go. Was told over the phone that my order would be ready at 6:30. Walked in the door at 6:32 and was told that it would be a cpl. more mins.(no problem at all) I was even offered a drink "on the house" while I waited.
Pretty sure it was a solid 20 mins more before I was out the door , food in hand. Now, while I was waiting...... the sushi creations being brought out of the kitchen by the servers looked amazing! I'm born and raised in L.A. and have traveled and I know my sushi. I was kicking myself for only getting the fish and chips, seriously looked that good !
Then... I got to eating my order. Did I mention the LA and traveling things, oh ya..... Well I know my fish and chips !! I was surprised the fish was not in the shape of little dinosaurs, ya know like the name brand boxed stuff from the supermarket. Pretty sure it was something similar. To be fair it was not like "van decamp" bad. More like Gordon's..... And it did not come with malt Vinegar! (I know right)
Not what I was expecting, especially after seeing what was coming out of the kitchen. But hey, the fries were great ! A generous 4 stars ! I'm not giving up on you Beer Werks, I will be back, to dine in this time, and give you another chance at getting that fifth star. I think you have potential !! The place was clean, the staff was happy and I even like the rock n roll theme. Oh and I think they even sold...
Read moreThis used to be one of my favorite places in Cool to eat - not anymore. Their poke nachos were the best. They were so flavorful and packed with ahi in a sesame soy blend of minced cucumber, onion, and jalapeño, perfectly sprinkled with avocado and tomato on a bed of wonton chips. That was then. Today their poke nachos were composed of mostly onion and cucumber chunks with no discernible jalapeño sesame soy sauce blend. The onion mixture was burying just a handful of chip with about two slices of avocado. No tomatoes either. The ahi was so sparse that I didn’t even get a morsel with every chip, even though I asked them to cut the ahi into small pieces. The quantity of onion has given me a stomach ache. The last few times the ahi was cut into inch-sized cubes. But that was when they had just begun their downward slide. I’d say they are in free fall today. I don’t think I will be recommending this menu item again. It’s too bad, because Cool Beerwerks first introduced me to this delicacy. I guess if I want poke nachos on The Divide, I will have to make them myself. I remember when they cared about the quality of their food; now they just throw the lowest cost items on a plate and hope we...
