Pizza Express Maidu — Restaurant in Auburn

I would of given 5 stars but the crew members need major improvement with regards to customer service. Example: Called to order 1 top pizza special(15.99 listed in mailer received a few days prior .) 1 order of Garlic twist bread with both Ranch/red sauce. The girl taking my order added the order up totaling 36.54. Ugh! So we went over the pricing 1 item at s time then she came up with 26.27 and said it would be ready in 20 mins. She never asked me to bring coupon at time of pick up and complete purchase of my order. So knowing Fridays are busy I gave them 30 mins., went in to pick it up and there was 2 people in front of me, employee leaning over with hands on chin in a in depth "personal" conversation nothing about that transaction related to food or drinks??!! So, after 8 mins. went next door to pick up a few things from the store, came back, keep in mind now I ve been ready to pick order up and haven t made it to the register yet for close to 15mins. Got back in line same customer is at the register but at least this time they wound things up enough for the person in front of me to move up and take care of their transaction. That went fairly smooth and then it was my turn! She asked what I wished to order, told her as she was walking away I called out my order needs to be pick it up, she mumbled something came back to register and asked me what I wanted to order, uh right! Pick up order she asked me 3 times my name, and didn t look in the holding oven until the 3 rd time,when she opened the oven where orders are kept, mine was the only one there!! Okay pick up order, name 3 times, she asked for my name again, I told her and she said oh gosh its been sitting here a long time!!! Okay had to laugh at that and said I realize that. NoW the fun part! (UNDERSTAND I WAS SPECIFIC THAT PLATES NAPKINS WOULD BE NEEDED!!) SHE BROUGHT ME THE Cheese and peppers about 10 each, PILED LOOSE ON TOP OF THE BOXES, and then the payment. She adds the items up and the final price ended up being 23.36 ??? not complaining about the price mind you but after counting the wrong change out twice,she turns and walked away!. I asked her if she planned on getting the dressings/sauces I requested,napkins,plates etc??? She said oh did you want those too? Uh yeah!! Well the pizza is the best around but mr or mrs owner may want to re train the poor girl, and perhaps show her how to prep to go orders for a smooth in out experience. And yes the garlic sticks were cold and pizza too, by the time it got home and people got to eat!! Guess what no napkins!! So helping a friend move into her place she had no napkins,towels etc. So sleeve it was to dab our mouths clean, the sauce did not get into the bag, 1 ranch dressing for 6 pcs of bread. But by this time, tired,hungry,hot we all had no problem peeling it all off! Like i said they have great food! Hope the representatives will be more comfortable with there jobs in the future!!! I ordered a pizza from the Maidu location tonight using a coupon that came in the blue mailer. Over the phone I told the man I had a coupon for a large 1 topping pizza. I arrived and presented my coupon (which doesn't expire until late October 2022) and refused to accept it. He rudely informs me that those coupons are only good at the Bell Rd location and he can do $18 for the pizza tonight. I showed him the entire coupon which lists the Maidu address and phone number. He gets more rude with me refusing the coupon. No "sorry for the inconvenience" or anything of the sort. I asked him to honor the coupon this one time (the fact I said I had the coupon over the phone when ordering should have flagged his attention). He then tells me that "There is no one time!" Basically, this rude man was willing to give me a discount to $18 but wouldn't honor the $17 the coupon stated. I left and won't be back. I don't give business to rude...
