I ordered a large catering order from this place and either they’re not used to large catering orders, or that’s just how the food tastes, but wow. SO salty. I love salt, I prefer savory food over sweet food any day, but the food was even WAY too salty even for me, and many of my guests. The roasted potatoes and zucchini corn fritters specifically. The food was so salty that it made my face pucker, do you know what I mean? The fried brussel sprouts were insanely oily, sitting in pools of oil and were also burnt, leaving a bitter taste after each bite. When I placed my catering order, which might I add was way over $500, I asked for reheat instructions since I live a bit far and would need to reheat the food for my event, and that question of “what temperature and time would you recommend” was ignored twice from two separate communications. If they’re not used to large orders, I wish they would have been transparent about that, because I could have ordered less, or they could have asked how many ppl I have attending my party so they could have recommended how much to order of the items I said I wanted… I had an insane amount of leftovers. I could have ordered half! Nothing went to waste and it was all eaten, I am very anti waste, but it took a while to finish(over a month in the freezer) because of how salty. The eggplant terrine with the cashew ricotta is delicious. It’s weird to me how the only different between that and the other eggplant item on the menu(is it eggplant parm?) is that one comes with pasta and one doesn’t…unless we were told incorrectly by whoever answered the phone. The cauliflower wings were alright, my vegan palate is bit more elevated than fried cauliflower since that is such a common vegan offering among restaurants, that’s not this restaurant fault, that’s just me, so if you’re newer to vegan food then the cauli wings are probably a good choice for you. Those items were on the less salty side compared to the potatoes and fritters but still pretty salty. It was unbeknownst to me that the zucchini corn fritters came with salad too. Maybe it says that on the regular menu but it didn’t on the catering menu, or at least it didn’t at the time of when I placed this order(months ago). There wasn’t much of a “thank you for choosing us to cater your event! How did you find us?” which I feel like would be the polite thing to do after someone spends over $500 at your business…as well as good to know how someone found your business…I don’t think I’d ever order from here again but I do wish them luck with...
Read moreFood was absolutely amazing as far as taste and presentation. I’m all for this business and wish it the most success. But there seems to be a lot of mismanagement.
We ordered our food online at 12p and didn’t receive it until after 2p. We were told it would be ready by 12:57p but when we got there at 1pm it still wasn’t ready and we were told 20 more minutes. When we came back after stopping at the local brewery. It still was not ready. We were told the kitchen was backed up but people that walked into eat (that sat down when we first arrived at 1p) were served and gone before we even received out food - which we were also told that they were all out of a meal that we ordered which makes you questions whether or not it was given to a customer that ordered after us. All in all our order may have been lost.
That being said, we did receive our order (minus the truffle potatoes we ordered in addition that we still paid for) but we did receive a refund for the missed meal that they ran out of by the owner (who did not apologize or say anything really). We were disappointed in the wait time and that a portion of our order was unavailable and then another portion of our order was not in our bag when we got home but the food was absolutely tasteful and great. I do believe that once they got all the little nuisances of opening a business and everything under control, that this restaurant will be great - because the food is exactly that. We will order from them in future but may wait a little bit until it’s all worked out. Or not - and just order for dinner. We shall see. Best of...
Read moreA first rate eating experience. Starting with Nicole, who took our order and brought us our food . She was so just was so nice when there was a little mix up about who is staying to eat. You get the sense she is a wise soul; patient and nurturing without being overbearing. I want to say that the food is casual, but that doesn't do it justice. We had a hungry man, a blackened cauliflower sandwich, and zucchini corn fritters. Now, I've eaten vegan food all across the US; I've been to 30 states and enjoyed going out to dinner with friends everywhere I've traveled to. This is now one of my favorite vegan restaurants. This is not like millennium in San Francisco or veg in Philadelphia, but if you stop to take a moment, you realize that the tastes flowing across your pallet are as good as you could hope for anywhere. I think my favorite thing was the cauliflower sandwich; It was crispy, chewy, and at the same time the dressing kept it moist and sumptuous - I was licking my fingers. Oh, the other thing that really stood out was the lemon poppy seed pancakes. I think of myself as pretty good with the vegan pancakes and So I'm always disappointed when I get them in restaurants. However, these are literally the best I've ever had.
In short, just go. This is an...
