The conveyor belt was interesting. Does make for fewer interruptions and mildly entertaining for a little bit. Once the novelty wears off waiting and hunting for your food on the belt is tiring even distracting when you know what you want. However, for beginners who are inexperienced with hotpot the visual display to help pick and experiment.
There are multiple problems with this place that pull it down to the bottom of all hotpot places I've been to. I likely won't return unless these things are fixed. First, the sauce bar was missing half if the labels. Horrible for people new and not normally a problem for me since I'm very familiar with the typical sauces. However, I was lost at this one. Even the soy sauce was strange. I didn't believe it was soy sauce until they confirmed it. Asking about it, they added sugar to it. This threw off the texture and the taste. Infact nearly everyone one of their sauces had sugar added. The peanut sauce was translucent and sugar crystallized on parts. No sesame paste in sight. No black vinegar, just white vinegar. There were some odd things like nacho cheese and liquid wasabi. Not knocking them on having odd things, but knocking them for missing well loved classics of hotpot and ruining soy sauce. Sweet soy sauce, even worse they have a jar of sugar to sweeten it separately, as if the sauces wasn't ruined enough.
Other issue, the veggie broth was also sweetened too much. I want hotpot soup, not dessert. Everything at this place was sweetened that it stands out front and center of everything.
I suppose it makes sense they add sugar everywhere they can. They make more money if you eat multiple plates. Covering everything with sugar is well known to trigger over eating. It's kinda obvious that is what's going on too.
I got boba tea before I knew my meal was going to be partially dessert otherwise I wouldn't have. The tea was a dessert as expected, but the boba was burned and tough. Not very good unless you like to suck very hard on a clogged straw.
The atmosphere was great and comfortable. I do like several things about this place but the sugar issue is too severe. If they take out the sugar/sweeteners from the broth and sauce bar. Then it would be a great choice. As it is...
Ā Ā Ā Read more6/11/22-Dropping my five star review of this place down to 2 stars. Up until today they have always charged us the lunch prices on the weekend if you got there before 4pm. Then today we only found out that they were not doing that any more at check out when we got price shocked. I don't recommend this place any more since you can't trust them and the service has gone down hill.
1/28/22- This place may have just taken the lead for the best hot pot in the Denver metro area. This is the second conveyer restaurant to pop up. It is very entertaining, but you have to be understanding that it takes time for the items to circle around.
They have two main food options. You can either buy by the plate (price based on its color) or do the all you can eat. At places that serve by the Plate it is very easy to spend a lot of money. I still tracked my plates even though I got the all you can eat at $23. All of my plates would have added up to $22 +$4 for the base soup. So I ate my money's worth. It is very easy to add up more value if you focus on the meat and seafood while avoiding the veggies. I had the veggie broth that was a little bland, but that was what I was wanting so I could focus on the quality of what I put in it. My mother tried a different base and really enjoyed hers.
There were only 2 negatives and they were both minor. First, they never refilled the peanut sauce at the sauce bar the whole time we were there. Second they put a water container on each table, which is great for refilling your water, but the ones they have are so heavy. I felt I was getting an arm workout every time I tried to lift it. Overall, this is a great place that I would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is pretty close to my house yet tonight was the first time I tried it, and I don't know why I didn't try it sooner! The value for the AYCE hot pot combined with all of the fixings on the conveyor belt makes this place well worth it! I happened to order a Coke with my meal and it came out in one of the biggest mason jars I've ever seen! Needless to say, I didn't need a refill even once. Kinda disappointed they ran out of boba, but it didn't really matter anyway when the hot pot was the star attraction. The menu can be a bit distracting, but if you're ordering hot pot, here's what you do: start by deciding on your soup. I went with the Tom Yum which had a slight hint of spiciness to it which would be perfect for those who can't handle heat at all. There's a tanginess from the lemongrass, tomatoes, and lime juice too. After you've put in your order for the soup, go over to the sauce station and experiment with your dipping sauce and the right proportions. When you've finished with that, your soup most likely has come out by then. Then start picking out your ingredients on the conveyor belt. Each section is labeled with the name and possibly a picture of the ingredient along with 4 of those items (if they haven't been picked up by other patrons). Place ingredients in soup, let it cook, and stack up the plates, lids, and trash on the end where someone will come by to collect them. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. I'll be coming back again soon especially if the weather gets colder. Hopefully I can try out the BBQ combo to see what that's about, or even the pot of milk tea; yes, I said POT since that's what the menu says and I love me...
