HORRIBLE!!! I've just moved back to the area and have been looking for a Good place for Chinese food (which I love and eat at least a couple of times of week). I was on my way home after some dental work and knew that I wouldn't be able to get out of the house for a couple of days so wanted a meal I could munch on during that time. I had seen this place driving by a couple of times so was hoping this might be my new Chinese spot. I simply ordered shrimp with mixed vegetables. I explained to the gentleman on the phone that I had just had dental work done and I specifically requested that he cook the veggies as long as needed to be soft for me to chew with a sore mouth. He said, "No problem" and I picked up my food and headed home to relax and heal. When I got hungry I went and made a small plate for myself and went to take a bite of broccoli & it was so hard that it didn't seem like it got cooked at all not to mention a little longer like needed. Same with the carrots and every other vegetable in the dish. I couldn't eat it at all. So when I was able to leave my house again I called and explained the situation and told the guy I'd be willing to give him another chance to remake it the way that I ordered it and expected it to be made. He sounded like he was offended that I wouldn't eat it though I explained that it wasn't that I WOULDN'T eat it, I just COULDN'T eat it. He refused to remake it. So I told him I'd bring it back to him to see that it was all there and I'd like my money back to go get something else to eat since I hadn't ate anything significant in 2 days. He would only give me HALF of my money back. So I took that 50% and moved on down the road. Little does he realize that he thinks he was saving himself money by not rectifying the situation & keeping half in his pocket when he could've made alot more money from me had he made it right for me (by his mistake in the first place) for I probably would've continued to come back (a couple times a week at least). In the long run, he not only proved his customer service skills are in bad shape, which I will let everyone else that I know or talk to but I will not give him another dollar, which is not wise when you're trying to keep a restaurant open during these times.
On the other hand, if you're looking for a good place, I just found THAI GARDEN and their Food was made to perfection for me and their customer service is outstanding!!! I have finally found my Heaven for Chinese food in this area. Go there instead, that's my...
Read moreSugami Express is charging a different price on the Doordash app vs what their list price is on their store website, which is at best misleading, and at worst fraudulent behavior which could land them into legal trouble if more people complain about this practice. I spoke with a Doordash agent who confirmed that the prices are set by the restaurant on Doordash through merchant agreements.
Case in point: the Kung Pao Shrimp under Chinese Style is listed as 11.99 on the website. On the Doordash app, the list price is 13.99.
I may have been the only one to notice this, but when this gets more attention, then this could land the restaurant into legal trouble, which is definitely something a restaurant cannot afford during a pandemic.
A message to the owners/management: I would advise being fully transparent about this practice, or change the price on the Doordash app to reflect the price on your website. Again, I am just one customer, but if more complain about this, then you'll be held responsible.
EDIT: Food is always good. Going to change the rating to...
Read moreTried Sugami out last night for the first time. I ordered the General Tso chicken, pork lo mein, and an order of egg rolls.
First, the delivery time was super fast. I was told 35-40 minutes on the phone, but it couldn't have been more than 15 minutes.
The food was hot, the egg rolls were crispy, there was soy sauce and fortune cookies in the bag.
And it was delicious. The sauce on the chicken wasn't overly thick, the lo mein was moist. Even the fried rice that comes with the chicken was good. The egg rolls could use more flavor but weren't bad by any stretch. I'm definitely putting Sugami at the top of my take out list.
The only thing I wish, is that they would use the traditional cardboard containers instead of plastic and styrofoam. They're more environmentally friendly, easier to transport for delivery, easier to eat out of, and easier to store leftovers in the fridge with.
I don't know if that niggle is worth a whole star but there's no half star...
