I rolled into Aurora for a meeting. It was only the second time I had visited the small but quaint town, and I didn't know where I could find lunch. And lo - a taqueria less than a block from the historic city hall? I'M IN.
As a native Californian, I have found Mexican food in Southern Missouri to be challenging. Then add in the small town factor, and there was plenty of reason to be skeptical. But this place is shockingly legit. Pastor tacos - A+. And they had cabeza and lengua on the menu?! I literally started getting emotional. Take my money and feed me tacos!
Im now looking for a way to increase the amount of meetings I have to have in this town, just so I can score tacos that taste like home.
The restaurant isn't fancy. The service isn't 5 star. But both are perfect in what I want in a taqueria - I want pictures of the food on the wall behind the counter ✔️ I want Agua fresca and sopes. Yes, preposition the Valentinas and Tapatio on the table - you already know.

It is rare that I find a place that I consider worth the money. If I spend money on food it should always be better than I can do at home!
