Ordering: Frustrating. Eating: Delicious!

You can't order at the window; you have to order online. I scanned the big QR code poster outside, but the website it sent me to didn't work because I didn't have the right certificate. Then I want to the La Taquicardia website. It offered ordering through my choice of two services (GrubHub, I think, and another). However, both services indicated that Taquicardia was closed for the day and I couldn't order until tomorrow. Finally, I scanned a smaller QR code sticker. It sent me to a different website than the big QR code poster -- go figure! -- and I was finally able to order.

I got the plate of three birria tacos for $16. They were amazing! I've never had birria tacos before, so maybe they're all this umami-ful and satisfying? Not sure, but it's hard to believe they're better than this. They were a little messy to hold in your hand, so I opened them up, ate most of the beef and cheese with a fork -- making sure to dip it in the rich consomme -- then folded up the shells and ate them. I would have gone back and ordered the appetizer sample, but I was very full (and it was rather expensive at, I think, $14), so I...

Taquicardia catered our wedding and they were incredible. We were already regulars at the Southern Heights location and loved their food plus the staff was always friendly. They were great to work with to set a menu while staying within budget. We had a good variety of options and were even able to go off menu with an elote and chips bar for our cocktail hour that our guests could not stop talking about. Even our family from Mexico had nothing but great things to say about all of their food. They provided beautiful signage to go with our wedding theme and brought us an amazing “1 of everything” plate that we ate all night long. They were prompt, communicative, and professional. I saw this place on an Instagram account and I immediately added it to my must try list…. After trying it I can 1000% say it should be put on the top of yours!!! I personally had the guacamole which was so fresh and delicious, I loved the addition of the pickled onions on the top! DELICIOUS! I also had the quesabirria and the consommé was incredibly flavorful and the birria was so so good. I would come back just to have this again, but there’s so many other things I want to try! My boyfriend also had the mole enchiladas which he dug into before I could get a picture 😂 Mole is his favorite food and he is incredibly picky but said this one was delicious!
