We were so excited to visit La Traviata the moment we knew it had reopened and we decided what better day to visit than on our anniversary! I booked the reservation in advance for a Sunday night dinner and we got there at 6:50 for a 7PM reservation time only to see a long line of people waiting to be seated. After waiting for about 15 mins, it was our turn with the Maitre d, who very nonchalantly told us that there was no table ready and when asked what that meant, he said he’s waiting for people who had eaten and paid to get up and he isn’t sure how long it will be before the next table becomes available. I understand that this place is packed, but the way he handled the situation and corresponded back with us left a very bad taste in our mouth. However, he was the only glitch in our otherwise perfect evening! Our server was amazing and the food was even better than we thought it could be!! We got the fried risotto to share, my husband got the mushroom carbonara and I got the beet salad! The mushroom carbonara was to DIE for! It was perfection in every bite. Our server was very attentive and checked on us often and was very welcoming. We had the profiteroles for dessert, which were delicious and were comped by the house ( we didn’t know they were paying attention to what happened in the front of the house ) which I thought was a very sweet gesture! And to top it off, they got us a glass of bubbly to toast for our anniversary. Overall, this was a very memorable and delicious dining experience and we can’t wait to be back for more!!

Was going to give 4 stars but dropped a star for a few reasons: 1. Waitress (Isabel) was overwhelmed with the number of customers she had to serve so service was not prompt. We tried to get her attention several times but she wouldn't see us or come over. 2. Tiramisu was not good. I wouldn't order it again. I would say the pasta is good. The salmon i ordered was pretty decent. 3. When it was time to pay, we had ask for the check to be split. Some of us had wrong checks. Though I must say Isabel did her best. The thing that we were not happy about was that the front desk or other service crew was not willing to help Isabel. We wanted to give our credit cards to pay but only Isabel could receive it. Why cant others help to collect our credit cards? When the customer is ready to pay, we shouldn't be calling for the cards to be taken. I ended up giving 3 stars because my to go order was swapped with another guest. I did not check before I left the restaurant but only 2 orders were sent in to be packed at each time. How could the order be swapped ? I was not able to enjoy the rest of my meal because my order was swapped. I hope that the restaurant could have provided better service.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ La Traviata is an absolute gem! We were lucky enough to grab the last rosemary focaccia bread of the night, and I understand why it goes so fast—it’s delicious! Between the four of us, we shared the bread, a risotto fritter, and fried calamari. Kudos to the chef for curating such incredible appetizers; each bite was better than the last. I started with the beet and burrata salad, which was colorful and fresh, and the burrata itself was just scrumptious. For my main, I had the steamed mussels, which did not disappoint! The spicy tomato sauce had just the right amount of kick, and the side of aioli was a delightful touch. The toasted sourdough bread that came with it was perfect for soaking up every last bit of that sauce—so good! The restaurant itself is small and vibey, and from the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a smile from all the hostesses. The ambiance and music make you feel like you’ve stepped into Italy. I highly recommend La Traviata for an authentic and unforgettable dining experience. Bravo to the chef!

Last night, my wife and I, along with another couple, went to La Traviata for the first time. Let me say, this was by far the best Italian food I've had since we move to Austin. It's certainly the best Italian food in South Austin. Our waitress was also fantastic, as was the atmosphere. With that said, I only gave it four stars because we had a very off-putting moment with the manager at the very end. First of all, between the four of us, we spent over $400 on dinner; two bottles of wine, two appetizers, salads, entrees, and a dessert. Very shortly after we finished dessert, and I mean so soon after dessert that the leftover ice cream wasn't even melted, and we still had wine in our glasses, the manager came over to the table. At first it was the usual "how was dinner?", "was everything satisfactory?", to which we said it was amazing and we loved the place. But then he was like, "but I do have an eight top coming in, and I need the table as soon as possible", or something close to that. We all said no problem, and left immediately, but I have to say, that's a little off-putting to feel like you are being asked to leave. I would understand if we were sitting there for an extended time, but like I said, it was only minutes after we finished dessert, and we were still drinking our wine. I've never had that happen before and I would recommend that management make their customers feel more welcome than that. Regardless, I will still go back because the food...
