Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Austin

I was super excited to see this location open as it’s on my way home from work in the mornings. Unfortunately, after trying it about a dozen times hoping for improvement, I cannot recommend. The kolaches are by far the most horrific ones I’ve ever had. Every. Single. Time. They are burned to inedible oblivion. The cheese is crisp and melted outside of the kolache. The bread is crisp and hollow with a hard sizzled sausage inside. I cannot believe they think this is okay to serve and continue to do so. Ordered a dozen different donuts for delivery on Uber Eats. I usually get donuts from the Anderson Lane location, so it came as a shock as to how different the quality was and types of donuts that arrived (shape, dough type, etc was all of lower quality). They were ALL stale and had poor flavor. The filling in 2 of the donuts was almost inedible and tasted off. We unfortunately had to throw all the donuts in the trash. I can't recommend this location. I'll stick to Donut Taco Palace and other dessert options going forward. Really wish we'd liked these, but they would have to really improve...

Stopped in one morning before my first day at a new job. I was in a bit of a rush and unsure of what to grab, but the staff was incredibly welcoming from the moment I walked in. I mentioned my situation, and Jadyn behind the counter quickly assured me I was in good hands. She put together a perfect mix of donuts and kolaches — everything was fresh, delicious, and somehow even included a couple of my new coworkers’ favorites. Couldn’t have asked for a better start to the day....
