Waited over 15 minutes for an order that was already ready. Stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes with no help until someone who looked like the owner came in and finally helped me get my order that I could clearly see waiting on the counter. By the time I got it, my food was cold. The owner/manager replaced my fries with warm soggy ones. As he handed me my food he said "They must've called for you and you weren't here" One, I ordered inside the location so I would've heard. Two, even if that were the case, I stood at the counter for a long time waiting to be assisted. Many employees made eye contact and could clearly see I needed help and completely ignored me. Mcdonalds is one of my favorite fast food spots. Ive worked next to this one for two years. Another time I ordered they gave me a large fry that I kid you not was less than half full. I went back into the store and you guessed it waited for over 5 minutes again. This one was much longer because the owner never came in. I had to almost raise my voice to get someones attention which I never have had to do before and made me feel extremely uncomfortable and rude but I had been standing at that counter with people avoiding me after making eye contact. Once they finally came to help I showed them the issue and I'm not sure how long it took to replace them, but she handed out three orders that she was finishing instead of going and grabbing the fries I paid for, causing my food to again be cold and soggy. When I say the food is always cold and soggy, I mean when you order door dash to a restaurant and it takes an hour to get to you and by the time you eat it, it's cold and no where near as good. Thats every order at this one. I have ordered around four times because every single time I have gone the food has been old, soggy, or cold, and it takes 5 minutes for anyone behind the counter to even address your existence let alone help you or assist you. I don't mind ordering from a kiosk, I almost prefer it. But that does not mean you then only need a kitchen staff because then if anything isn't correct or there is any confusion your are out of luck because they actively avoid helping you. If you want mcdonalds there are plenty in the city, I would avoid this one as much as possible. Won't be ordering here again as I have now accepted that his location will never be dependable. Gaurnteed to wait, have low quality food, and have no one to help you in the event (which here is extremely often, like every order I have put in had atleast one mistake) you will not be helped in...
Read moreMCDONALD'S BEHAVIORAL PLAN The McDonald's at 5762 N Mopac Expy N, Austin, TX 78731 has a rather unique customer service policy. Instead of the friendliness and courtesy that you normally expect, it seems that this McDonald's has initiated a behavioral plan for its customers. I ordered a triple cheeseburger and a Caramel Frappuccino through McDonald's app, which makes things much quicker and easier plus you can get free food and beverages like the Frappuccino I ordered. The burger was warm and the freshest that I've ever had; and the Frappuccino was really great! However, the customer service in the drive through lane was right out of a scene from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Everything was great until I pulled up to the window to retrieve my food and asked for a glass of water. I was told to pull over to the side; and they will bring it to me. BUT the last time I came to this McDonald's, the same thing happened, and after waiting for 15 minutes- I NEVER received my water. This time I informed them that I'll wait right here at the window. They refused to give me my water. I asked to speak to a manager, Karen, who yelled at me like Nurse Ratchet from the aforementioned movie to pull over and wait. We went back and forth because I refused to pull over. Karen got increasingly angry with her voice getting louder and louder. I began to realize through Karen's angry shouts that since I didn't order the water at the first window, I was being PUNISHED. I refused to budge. Then Karen shouted that she'll give me the water but I'll have to pay 81 cents. MORE PUNISHMENT. She yelled that next time I need to order the water at the first window. So is this Ratchet like policy straight out of the corporation's manual or did Karen just cooked this up on her own? I felt like McMurphy being PUNISHED because of wanting to brush his teeth outside...
Read moreThis isn't just one experience. This is a story spanning multiple trips.
The first experience was when my friend J and I went late one night (around midnight and they didnt add ketchup or tomatoes to my McChicken, no biggie, we were eating outside our car enjoying the Texas night. So we hopped back into the drive thru, waited semi-patiently at the speaker with no response for about 5 minutes as a line steadily formed behind us.
So, being curious, we pulled forward, looked into the windows trying to make sure nothing ill had happened to the employees. No one could be seen, we looked in the drive thru windows for about 5 minutes, seeing no one. So we parked next to the employees cars, a dark SUV and I think a dark sedan.
We went around the building looking in for trouble and detected nothing for about 15 minutes.
A few other patrons stopped and got out to look in with us. There was still a line 😯😯😯
So, feeling relatively sure nothing nefarious had happened to our neighborhood McDonald's, and having already eaten the aforementioned tomato-less McChickens. We went home for the night.
We returned a few weeks later about the same time, we noticed the Black SUV was there, we ordered everythin at the speaker (or so i thought) as when we arrived at the window they were missing my McChickens, I was told I would have to go back through the line, i refused as I had ordered at the speaker, she told us to park and they would bring the bags out, while paying I asked her if she was working when they closed for over 30 min and if everyone was OK from that night, she said yes it was ok. Nothing else.
Overall, i love this MceDees. Its open 24/7/365 just like me and mine. But I don't know what is going on with the overnight crew. Nothing good...
