I consider myself a food snob. It’s a difficult thing to be, and I’m accustomed to being disappointed. But Plantain Bar blew me away. I went in with low expectations, despite their 4.9 star rating, simply because it’s a food truck, how great could it be? Let me tell you, pretty friggin great. I got the Fatty Lechon in the plantain cups, and I could definitely see this on a real plate in an elevated dining restaurant. Such a fantastic combination of flavors. The deep savory flavor of the melt-in-your-mouth lechon is balanced by the semi-sweet plantain cups and complemented with a bit of freshness from the avocado and microgreens on top.. If you’re wondering what to order, the answer is this. I also got the yucca fries with the special sauce. Yucca fries were perfect, not hard, not stringy, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the perfect vehicle for that fantastic sauce. The couple that runs it is incredibly sweet and the atmosphere is very lively. 10/10 would recommend you check out this gem. PS. Bring bug spray!

Try the Fatty Lechon with Yuca fries! It will not disappoint! It took a while for the Cubanito to arrive, but it was worth the wait and we were warned in advance. (The cubanito is a specialty dish and is not always on the menu.) Great service and a fully dedicated Gluten Free establishment. Update: 2nd visit Food was absolutely delicious again. This is one of my favorite places. Very friendly service from husband and wife team! 5% customer service fee added to the ticket. Great vibe in the park. Plenty of seating in the shade, and live music. Clean and cool restrooms onsite.

We tried the Plaintain Bar food truck for the first time and were very pleased with the authentic and delicious flavors of the plates we ordered. The presentation of the plates-both to-go- was also nice. We had the “El gran combo,” which is a shareable plate and the “fatty lechón.” Only reason i didn’t give it five stars was because my husband and I thought the gran combo plate was a bit pricey ($24), and the lechón plate ($14) serving size could’ve been a bit bigger. The flavors, however, were spot on. The sauces and all. Tenían el sazón!

I found Plantain bar by pure chance. I knew there was a food truck park here but didn't know what food was available. I googled/mapped this area and found this listed as Puerto Rican Fusion. I was curious and invited a friend. We met at the food truck park and the parking was easy, the area was cool with music playing and a house that has a bar inside. We decided to try Plantain Bar. I had the Pollo Loco and yuca fries. Presentation of the food was nice with a small Puerto Rican flag, nice touch. The sauce for the yuca or tostones was well done(mayo catsup). The flavor was good,we were impressed. I was impressed with how quickly the order came out as well. My friends beef was although the food was good he thought it was fairly expensive for what it was. That's probably a common theme but like I told him-if you like the food, the space etc why be upset about paying a few more dollars? That's one of the common issues that plague "authentic" foods -authentic people think authentic food should be cheaper as it is in ones country of origin. Then we don't support our own because we think it should be cheaper...blah blah All in all we enjoyed the food and recommend it,the yuca...
