As we do most Fridays, my colleagues and I visited the Pour House for lunch. Today, we had a server that was new to us. Isaiah began by apologizing for being scattered and unknowledgeable about the restaurant offerings, because he was still waking up. He then took our orders, and it wasn't long until the food came--all at the same time: appetizers, salad, and meals. My pizza did not arrive, however, so we let him know as he dropped off the rest of the food. He said it would be right out. About 10 minutes later, he came back to say that they were out of chicken and prepping more, and that he would not charge for the pizza. Another 20 minutes later, a different person brought the food and displayed no awareness of the situation. I still did not complain; not even a whimper.
When the checks came out, I received one including the cost of the pizza, so I handed it back with no card or money. Nathaniel, the manager promptly came out, knelt down and asked me what the problem was. A little confused at their lack of communication, I stated that Isaiah said he would be picking up that check. The manager asked me why, at which point I looked at Isaiah and stated "probably because it took 30 minutes." The manager--yes, the manager--looked at me with a smirk and said "30 minutes, really?" to which I replied yes, and then looked at the other 7 adults at the table, who all agreed. I offered to pay since it seemed they were really hurting for that $8.99, but he then laughed, declined, and left.
Now mind you, this entire time Isaiah is standing across the table STILL ARGUING and at this point insulting me! He stated that I never tip. As an ex-server, today was the first time I haven't tipped (and I tip well) in at least 15 years! We didn't even ask for the pizza to be comped--he offered! The funniest part of the tipping statement was that he also said he'd never seen us before today! Needless to say Isaiah was still standing there mouthing off, insulting, blaming, accusing, assuming, etc. when we all just got up to leave. We've always had a good time, up until today. I know I won't be returning to be ganged up on by the childish staff at this dive!
UPDATE 5/18/19: We were told one if the employees was let go, and the other put back in training. We don't go back often, as we've found other places with patios, great beer selections for my colleagues, and a much larger selection of, not to mention better, food. However, the few times we have taken our chances, the treatment has not be repeated. So, upped from 1 to 2 stars for now, as we've no proof the employees...

There were only three tables occupied on the patio & ours was the largest. There we were enjoying food & drinks on a lovely day, when the manager, Evie, decided to pull me away from the table. For five minutes she stood there insulting me, calling our entire table names I can't even write here, and publicly embarrassing me. The next thing I knew she was back at our table insulting ALL of us. Here are our crimes: 2 ladies very politely sent their soup back because it was cold. It was returned to them cold. I was served the wrong drink & was nice about it. 2 of us ordered the same pizza. When the waitress brought it out I said, "hey if that's mine I'm going to need it in a box because it's to go". To be fair, it was the other guy's pizza. Still, no one was rude in the slightest.
We are eight professional people, 1 architect, 1 teacher, high tech managers, former military and a financial adviser. When our checks came, Evie blurted out "you better not try to run on your checks!". Are you kidding me right now? We have collectively spent thousands of dollars at this establishment, but we refuse to do business with a restaurant who would let their manager berate and cuss at their clients. I have visited restaurants all over the world and I have never witnessed such a hideous, unprofessional manager. Our group will never go...
Read moreThis establishment is a seat yourself place. We sat ourselves and weren’t greeted by waitstaff for over 45 minutes. We had our dog with us and could not both go to the bar to get drinks at the same time or sit inside, after not being greeted for 10 minutes one of us went in and spoke with the bartender to at least get drinks. The bartender was phenomenal and could tell that people at tables were coming inside because they were not being helped by their waitstaff. She even mentioned this to the manager who did nothing to resolve the issue as we sat for another 35 minutes without being greeted. I even asked a passing waitress if she was our waitress in an attempt to get a staff member to even acknowledge our existence to no avail. Had we had some level of interaction with personalized waitstaff at our table we would have ordered at the least appetizers and another...
