It’s a rare occurrence when it happens, but when it does, I feel as if the $6 and the detour I took to get to the inevitable line of frustratingly slow office workers picking up their incredibly inconvenient 9 cup orders is worth it. I say 9 because, 8 cups? 2 trays, 2 hands, no problem. God forbid you hand that frail woman, who is most likely on the brink of retiring in her new white Acura crossover, 1 more grande americano, it might just be her last. However, eventually would be my moment. It’s hard to explain the longed excitement I feel leading up to being handed my hilariously whip cream topped double chocolaty chip Frappuccino, drizzled in chocolate sauce sourced straight from the widely available plastic container which is an overpriced and oversized condiment bottle, but damnit it’s good. Nice and cold regardless if it’s a hot summer or a frigid winters night it matters not, through the drive thru window I reach out with my iPhone in one hand, Starbucks card already displayed on my locked virtual wallet screen, the other raised to receive the awaited ‘cino of frap! I peel out of the parking lot as if that would even make a difference in the already doomed timeline i am forced to adhere to via work, feeling as if I could squeeze just one more bit out of my morning drive in a semi-pleasant crawl through MoPac traffic. I free that familiar green straw from its womb, stab it into the now slowly deflating sugar and diabetes inducing cloud of cream and chocolate, to the... wait... is that coffee I taste?
Annnnndddd it’s a java chip Frappuccino. Son of a... welp, all for nothing.
Double chocolaty chip == Java chip
Please take note. I will not stand for this.
But... otherwise decently quick service given the scenario.
4/5 would yell at old woman in front of me for being old and slow again for a...
Read moreMost recent in-store experience found a polite barista taking my order. There was a nice atmosphere in the store. The dining room was in order even though it was 5 pm. My recent drive-thru experience found a very cheerful person taking orders; the employee handing me my order checked to see if I wanted to use points. It's been so long since I've ordered without the app, it's nice to see they are still doing this. On a visit prior to COVID there was a new drink introduced that I had questions about, and a barista took the time to slow down and explain the drink and its preparation (much better info than simply saying "it's espresso with chocolate..." for example). That was a terrific interaction (and one that prompted a kudos call to Starbucks Customer Service!). Only drawback to this location is parking. Very few spaces, lines are faint, lot is tight, space is shared with a bank so spaces are unavailable, and there is an exit that makes pulling out challenging. You also must stay aware of drive thru traffic if you are pulling out of the lot. Good thing you are here for caffeine--you need to...
Read moreTLDR, ordered a venti drink but got a small one, employee said it’s normal.
This was my favorite Starbucks location here in Austin. I pretty much go to this location to and back from work everyday. The last few visits were not the great because I found the food quality here had been dropping.
The visit today was just awful. I ordered a light ice shaken espresso because most stores just can’t make no ice ice shaken espresso (just filter the ice out after shaking it, how difficult is that?!). When the food was ready, they gave me a small drink in a venti cup. I have had less drink in venti cup multiple times but this time is far less. It is like a small in a venti cup. I went to the store to ask about this, and they basically “taught” me that it is normal because it was light ice.
Here’s the question, I ordered a venti size coffee, you only give me a drink of small volume,...
