Update to previous review listed below: things seem to have improved. I have been in several times since my last review. I had correspondence with the manager after that review and they genuinely listened and I believe addressed the issues. Everyone has been much more friendlier and they always have pastries when I go in now. Very much appreciated to have great people and service where you are spending your hard earned money. Thank you to the management for acknowledging my concerns.
Previous review : I go to this location occasionally to get a couple of different pastry items due to it being near where I need to be often. I have gone several times and the customer service is bad. Not very friendly or inviting. They seem bothered and this is different people every time I go. I have encountered maybe 2 semi friendly people there. I have gone 3 times in the past month at about 6:30 am and they have had no pastries every time. Zero. The last time I went in. Neither of the 2 employees there greeted me at all. I walked over to the counter to see if they had any pastries and was there for a good minute. One employee was on the floor doing something right by me and the other was behind the counter making coffee and neither said one word. I walked out because they didn’t have any pastries and I don’t even know if they knew I was in there. Idk how they couldn’t have. The one making coffee glanced up and I was in eye shot of her and I was standing right next to the guy on the floor. Pretty bad. I get they have their pastry goods shipped fresh but maybe there is a better ordering method that can be followed. And they definitely need training for their employees on how to treat...
Read moreUpdate- I have reduced the feedback to 1 star after the below experience. I have written to corporate about it.
Now the 4th time.. I went today and met the manager.. I asked the manager Robin Alaheim to ensure cofffee this time was made well, the way cappuccino is supposed to be. He assured me that he will make it, but he then started talking to someone and never paid attention. The barista again made bad coffee. I went to the manager but he cared less, barista fixed it but he kept talking to the same person he was talking to. This location had the best coffee of all shops in the city, but now it’s all screwed ups and seems like no one cares. I hope you guys can look into it. - As sent to the corporate team.
Been regular here driving 25mins one way to drink their cappuccinos, while this branch HAD the best coffee in town (beating other Moons and coffee shops) but now they have stopped short of Starbucks.. it’s the third/4th time in last three months.. cappuccinos are filled to the brim, blazing hot and beans tasting burnt dark(over brewed). And the best part the barista heard the feedback, nodes the head dead cold and moved on.. finally after all these years of great coffee, building loyal coffee customers, they realized it’s better to let go off old loyal customers for new ones that want Starbucks in summer moon! So hell yeah, Moonbucks or Starmoon could be their new name. I sincerely hope they bring back old baristas and/or train the new ones..I am not returning to drinking bitter burnt coffee that’s super blazing hot, without milk...
Read moreAfter living near Avery Ranch in Austin for two years, I finally stopped by Summer Moon Coffee, and I’m glad I did. Known for its oak-roasted coffee and signature Moon Milk, this cozy spot exceeded my expectations.
I ordered a hot Mocha Moon, and it was fantastic—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced with their signature sweet cream. The oak-roasting process adds a unique depth to the coffee that sets it apart from other local shops.
The cafe itself is spacious and inviting, with plenty of seating options—inside, upstairs, and a nice open-air patio. It’s a great place to work, read, or meet up with friends. The atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant, and the free Wi-Fi makes it remote-work friendly. Plus, the pet-friendly patio is a nice touch.
Beyond coffee, they offer breakfast and lunch options, with choices for various dietary preferences, including vegan, gluten-free, and keto. The service was warm and efficient, adding to the positive experience.
Overall, Summer Moon Coffee at Avery Ranch is a must-visit for coffee lovers. Whether you’re a longtime Austinite or just passing through, this place delivers great coffee, a welcoming vibe, and a comfortable space...
