I have been to this location several times it's normally always good with no problems the food is super great normally and the people are so nice but the boss lady with red hair was rude today I asked for a breakfast taco with crema I came in actually very hungry so of course my first bite of my taco was a huge bite there was a huge glob of sour cream and I hate sour cream so of course this was aggravating. I went back in and asked for a side of crema I was going to just wipe off the sour cream and add the cream of course again the kitchen gave out a side of sour cream the cashier asked the boss lady she said it is because it's a lunch thing I told her they should ask what else I want instead of just substituting sour cream. I didn't have time to wait for another taco I was also starving so I just ate it. She did offer a refund and also did tell me to have a blessed day but she did it in a condensending attitude and manurism. I won't eat here again when she is here. The food is great and service is normally good but...

The location is beautiful and spacious, but the tacos we ordered weren’t like they are at the other locations. We ordered a Jess special and a barbacoa breakfast taco, and 2 steak egg and cheese tacos. The Jess is supposed to come with avocado, but didn’t have any on it when it came out. That was okay, I just pulled some off my barbacoa taco. The real problem was the steak - typically it is seared and not saucy, but our tacos came out with something that was like beef, but had been cooked in a red sauce, kinda like guisada, but not as good. I’m not typically a picky eater and I love all Mexican styles of cooking, but this meat was inedible because of the seasonings in the sauce. I don’t know if the kitchen made an error and gave us some other meat, but it wasn’t good. Very disappointing experience, we will def be going to the spyglass location instead in the future

Also ETA: we asked to leave a 20% tip, but our receipt says only $1 was added - not sure why that happened, since we do want to adequately support...

MY ACTUAL RATING OF THIS LOCATION IS A 2 STAR āļøāļø because it’s a new location that recently opened in the midst of tough circumstances and I do not wish for my review to lower their rating but to serve as a constructive comment. As a family, we ordered a medley of tacos, quesadillas, etc. encompassing ingredients ranging from pork, chicken, to a variety of beef. We ORDERED ONLINE, which means Our order was ā€œSpelled Outā€. We did not get any of our Quesadillas. The pork tacos were actually good. Chicken tacos were offensively tasteless and bland. Beef tacos were super salty, in fact, each of us was only able to take one bite, that’s it, they were sooo salty. In summary, our dinner was ruined. However, our past experiences with this Austin Chain Restaurant has been good and I’m rooting for this new location in my neighborhood to succeed. I’ll probably wait a while in hopes that they can improve and live up to their reputation. Wish you...

This was my first time going to Tacodeli and this will also be my last time going to Tacodeli. I went to this location because it was the closest one to me for breakfast tacos and it was a place I haven't tried before. I ordered 3 tacos with this order. Flour, Egg, potato, sausage, & cheese. When he told me how much the total was, I was shocked. Each taco was $5 each and they were small tacos on top of it, 3 bites for each one. Places like this are why Austin is such an unaffordable city to live in. They contribute to the already unaffordable rising housing and living standards in Austin that going here with your family of 4 can easily land you a bill of $60 or $70 dollars, for tacos of all things. This restaurant, like so many others, has lost control of their prices. I won't go back or recommend this place, unless your the typical Austin millionaire. Get those prices fixed! Go find a Taco food truck instead, you'll save more money, lots more.

See my photo? The chicken taco is half empty-- $5 for a tortilla, a couple slices of veg, and 2 cubic inches of chicken? I think they just made a mistake in the kitchen. I called them, they provided a refund, so I changed my overall stars from 2 to 3. I'll try again-- and give them a shot at 4 stars. But for the price, 5 stars is not possible. I'll give them a couple more changes but I am considering not visiting this place in the future. They're tasty, but way overpriced. I am going to stop tipping this place until they up their game. For $5 I expect a big, full taco. I measured, and my chicken taco has literally 2 cubic inches of chicken. Tacos are too small for the price. Photo: Left: Puerco Verde. Right: Frontera Fundido Chicken. Untouched-- except for adding salsa to the chicken taco.

I've lived in Austin for over a decade, and my favorite Tacodeli location used to be off of Spyglass. I came to this location a few times in the past few years and was not impressed; the food was wildly over-seasoned and overcooked, the staff didn't seem to be paying attention to anything, etc. I'm glad I gave this place another chance today, because somehow things seem to have turned around 180 degrees. The food was great - as good if not better than the Spyglass location's - and the service was warm and friendly. Other people must've noticed too, because the restaurant was almost full (a far cry from my previous experiences, where I'd be one of the only ones dining in). After my meal, I walked up to the manager and shook his hand, thanking him for helping turn the place around.
