Vincent's — Restaurant in Austin

Update: 10-29-2025 - I see Vincents repsonded. To clarify my OP, we went at 11am and were the only customers in the entire place when Mgmt informed us of the no kids policy. Did your policy change?

March 2019 - NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY & NO Kids allowed on weekends or after 4pm Monday - Friday. Living less than 2 miles due south of Vincent’s (same owners of Moontower Saloon on Manchaca) the wife & I decided to try them for the first time. After grabbing a booth at the back of the restaurant right when they opened, we were immediately asked to leave since it was Saturday as kids aren’t allowed. Numerous employees watched us walk in without saying anything so we embarrassingly had to walk back out the front door. We were literally the first customers of the day and I'm not sure why any of the employees who watched us walk in didn't tell us we weren't allowed to be there. It’s apparent that this rule was created intentionally to prevent familes with kids from ever going to Vincent’s. No doubt it’s their prerogative to do what they want with their business but after that experience I’m not sure we’ll ever attempt to go back. We literally felt ashamed for having a family while attempting to support a local business. It would be nice if they would update their website to convey this no kid policy as I’m sure it will save others time and...

They did a nice job with the build out on this place, looks great. It is loud AF in here when the games are on, you'll be yelling to the person next to you if you want to chat, just a heads up. Food was pretty good, the hot dog was one of the better I've ever had. The wings are large as they should be, not the pigeon wings served in many of the local establishments....although the sauces need some work, some were too salty.

-1 star for not having at least a few more adventurous beers on the tap list. They have ~30 beers on tap, and most are craft but they're common craft that you would find at most other establishments in town.

-1 star for not allowing kids. I understand if they don't want them there all the time, I can agree with that, but they're in the middle of a suburban neighborhood surrounding by parents. Would be nice to allow them on certain days (Mon-Fri before 8:30 PM) so we can go grab a beer and hot dog with our kid. I hope they figure out how to balance the wants of the...

Sign said seat yourself, so we found a couple of open seats at the bar. It was very busy, but the bartender ignored me and my friend even after direct eye contact and us speaking loud enough to be heard (it was busy and loud), to ask if we could order. We waited long enough to be forgiving of the fact that it was so busy, but after repeatedly making eye contact with us and continuing to ignore us, we decided to leave. It's a shame as I was bragging to my friend about the burgers (which are really good), but now I doubt either of us will be inclined to return. I can understand being busy (maybe they were understaffed that day as well), but at least acknowledge new customers who just sat down and let them know you will get to them eventually, ESPECIALLY if you just made eye contact with them.
