We realize you are in soft opening phase and wanting feedback, however, we were there a long time and the Manager never approached anyone dining in the restaurant. The waitress was a very nice girl but things beyond her control were not addressed by the Manager either? We went for lunch and first tried to order the clam chowder as one of our starters but was told they were out of it? Odd, only lunch service and out of it already? OK, so we ordered two salads instead to start. We waited 25 minutes for the two salads, not a problem if they were making them fresh which we assumed they were. One salad, the watermelon salad with mint, red onions and feta was only fair. The best way to describe it is that it was made yesterday and sat in the fridge and half of the watermelon on the plate was mushy, the red onions were also soft like they had been sitting in watermelon juice for at least a day and I didn't really see any mint? It definately was not prepared to order freshly made for lunch service. The second salad on the menu was listed as Pomegranate & Pear salad which said Pomegranate, asian pear, pecans, baby arugula & blueberry goat cheese in a ginger pear dressing. Well see my photo...they gave me frisee instead of baby arugula (which is a totally different thing all together) there were no pecans and just a few crumbles of the blueberry goat cheese along with the pomegranate and pears. I mentioned to the waitress that the salad was not as described but that I would eat it anyway. I told her that she should advise the manager that the kitchen was making something different than described on the menu so others would not be disappointed and maybe even send the salad back. I don't know what ever happened regarding my comments. She went back to the kitchen but nothing else was said back to me regarding it? So after waiting so long for the salad, we were surprised that our meal came out almost immediately after the salad. We barely ate any of it when the main came out. I had the tuna and avacado roll. I'll give a high score for the fresh tuna but there was barely any avocado in the roll. My husband tried the sirloin burger. He asked for it cooked medium. The burger came out extremely well done, and it was not even warm. Looked like it was cooked prior and added to the bun with the toppings and not even warmed up. The cheese was barely melted and everything was room temp at best. The description on the menu said sautéed mushrooms with lettuce, tomato and onion. This too was not how the dish came out. The fries were room temperature and extremely salty. We understand kinks need to be worked out but the manager was not very far away from us at all but she was not very observant of the happenings going on around the room. I am sure there are a million things that need to be addressed to get an new place up and running but the restaurant was not busy. Maybe 25% capacity so I would have thought we might be asked how our lunch was going or what we thought of the new place etc. I do not know what was happening in the kitchen but the kitchen sent out dishes that were not freshly made. The wait staff is not to blame for that. Our waitress and all the staff we saw working were pretty attentive. But that cannot make up for the food sent out. We didn't make a big fuss, we still tipped over 20%, she was very nice but she seemed so nervous and apologetic about our wait time for our appetizers etc. We eat out a lot, and we are always willing to pay for a good meal. This experience was not where it should have been. I reviewed the breakfast and dinner menus before our food came out as we wanted this to be one of our go to places when friends visit us etc. The breakfast menu seemed very reasonable with a good selection but dinner was pricey. That would not be a problem but after our lunch experience with the food we were served I am not really sure if I will try it again. Lastly as an FYI, they will tell you when they give you the bill that if you use a credit card there is a 4% added fee.

Updated 2025 for weekend breakfast - we came back this year. I am writing a reviews giving a thumbs up to their weekend buffet breakfast. It was perfect. This is actually a great idea at that price 25 Per person. If you guys go higher then thats an issue. Coffee should be Included The Buffett is actually really unique for this area on the weekend and actually a good idea. All of it was delicious and set up great as well. I can only speak on this part. But it a good idea. So weekend Buffett A+++++ Very disappointing and my review is gonna be brutal and honest- buy before you go and and eat on the beach. Last year- review I wanted to love this place….. I dont. Not only are prices crazy for breakfast it an disservice to the memory of what the place use to be and shore residents This place five star prices meets 1 star review. 80 dollars for breakfast🥴 three people and had WaTer……. First-Services is slow. We sat at 9:15 w a reservation. Took 10 mins for anyone to great us. We were sat no one came to us for 10 mins until we asked for someone. Place isnt as busy as previous years there use to be a wait - first red flag. Second red flag- Food way over priced. Back in may i asked for the menu- the original menu was lower. They changed it and up everything to crazy amount money. Third red flag-breakfast should not take that long 30 mins w not even a full restaurant. 4th red flag- The 19.99 Bradley beach omelette- (we are in Avon). Little to no egg was used . It was majority of frozen mix veggie packet w some egg. No pepper no salt. Rip off. Avon Benedict w avocado - it suppose to still have hollandaise sauce the avocado replaces the meat . Mine didnt I had to ask for it 🤦🏻‍♀️ lastly the eggs where cold….. poach eggs served cold is gross . The 5th red flag . The greek omelet( dish was messed up twice )first- it was brought out wrong. They made Bradley beach again. Than they made it again came out had no feta or the olives.. it was a mess. At no point was a manager notified- and it been told he is not even nice so there no point in asking. The potatoes aka homefries- taste like a potato in the ground no flavor. No onions or peppers. The very definitions of them is -“Home fries are made from cubed or diced potatoes. They are fried up along with onions and often bell peppers “ none was in it. Zero- It is really ashamed. The owners need to wake up. Your food is over priced compared to the areas around this place. Its a family beach area and should be shore food w locals and seniors. Your Italian place inland doesn’t make you experts at shore breakfast traditions. Throwing pork-roll egg and cheese on the menu doesn’t cut it. You all donr know how to make an actual omelette. Omelets are folder in. Do you your research at other areas. The place is empty on a holiday weekend for a reason- you are half full while last years there was lines all the time. You are doing it wrong- I been going here now for 9 years . I am a shore girl. I lived on the shore(raised) for 18 years moved to middlesex as an older adult w a family but still know the shore. Avon is for families not five star prices. I paid more at this place for a breakfast than I did at world grand Marriott in Orlando- and thats sad. From a shore girl who worked at the shore in this business your ripping off your customers and you lost alot by your pricing. Us being one and we are weekly regulars for the beach.

This restaurant sits right on the boardwalk of the Avon by the Sea beach and is easily accessible. The restroom is just a few feet away. Its competition is another restaurant directly across the street off of the boardwalk, but if you’re looking for a little bit more upscale dining, and food selection you would want to go here. Nice airy and open style seating with a great atmosphere. BYOB. Great views of the ocean from inside the dining room. Cordial staff at the hostess stand outside. Very nice and helpful server. Excellent fried calamari and peppers appetizer. Just the right amount of breading, crunch and seasoning. I called before dining to find out if they offered cheeseburgers on the menu. I was told they had a house special with lettuce and tomatoes and caramelized onions. When I arrived a few hours later, it was nowhere on the menu and I had to order a cheeseburger from the kids menu. Not sure where the miscommunication happened, but it was just a decent boardwalk burger. Nothing upscale about it, but again, it came from the concession stand outside which was weird. Crunchy, tasty but hard french fries. Not as appetizing as they looked. Not sure why they were so hard.

We wanted to give this new restaurant a little time to get their feet on the ground so after 4 months, a group of 6 of us decided to go for an early dinner.

They kept the same decor as the previous restaurant so it’s light, airy and modern. There is a beach view from the patio if you’re lucky enough to get the few tables that have a view or are not blocked by racks of water glasses and silverware placed in front of you on the boardwalk walkway which feels very unsanitary.

I chose a light meal of soup (milky chowder), a basic Caesar salad and Shrimp Cocktail (3 par boiled shrimp). $55

The Halibut with a side of spinach (also $55) had potential with a flavorful seasoning but the fish was so dry, no amount of seasoning could save it. The shrimp and crab risotto was tasty but had no crab. We even asked the waiter “is this a shrimp and ‘Crab’ risotto?” And he responded a very enthusiastic YES! But we searched the pile of rice thoroughly - no crab. 2 of the 3 steaks were tough and well done even though we ordered medium-rare. By the time we got the attention of a server and our steaks reordered (which came out blood raw 20 minutes later), the others were finished with their meals. We just wanted to leave at that point so we got them wrapped to go. The server didn’t ask why they were untouched and nobody apologized for the debacle.

We noticed another table handing back dishes to return, we do not know the reasons why. And yet another table getting up several times to get their own napkins and water! The restaurant was not at all busy, it was just a laissez-faire attitude that appears to be the norm.

Needless to say, the amateur level of service and the poor quality of the food coming out of the kitchen do not even come close to justifying the ludicrous prices. The automatic 20% tip (never mentioned by server) and credit card % fee vs cash option (never mentioned by server) just added salt to the wound. $670.00 later, we were appalled. It’s sad to say because it used to be a gem but we will never return.

———————————————————————————

Update:

We decided to give this place another shot after its rough opening a couple of summers ago, hoping things had finally turned around.

But on a beautiful summer evening, with the restaurant barely 20% full (which should’ve been a warning sign), it still took 45 minutes just to get our appetizers. The shrimp cocktail was mushy, like it had been frozen and thawed a few too many times. The clams were completely overpowered by super salty chorizo. Things didn’t improve with the entrees—too many problems to even go into. Tables around us were complaining about the wait as well.

To top it off, we were seated in a dark corner of the patio next to a large plastic banner flapping in the wind. Not exactly the relaxing beach vibe they advertise.

What really got me, though, was realizing I came back because of some new glowing Google reviews. After this visit, I took a closer look and noticed an odd influx of overly enthusiastic 5-star reviews recently that do not match the reality. It’s hard not to be suspect especially when the owner only replies to those 5 star reviews with grandiose over-the-top Thank Yous!! while ignoring the concerns of real paying customers who spent their valuable time and money for miserable experiences. How much more insulting to your costumers can you get!

Bottom line: don’t be fooled. Sadly, this place remains an...
