My first time here on a sat what a great beach, very clean no commercialized boardwalk just a great pavilion that offers great food at great priced. Best of all free parking if you sit by the jetty you can see all the big fishing boats coming in and out to the ocean and a great spot that like a private area great for kids to play in ocean very easily. Lots of life guards on duty and lots of police that walk the beach keeping a eye on things. For example there were this people that came two spots in front of us and we're blaring their music and someone complained to the police and within in minutes a police man came and told them it had to be turned down immediately or they would have to leave. This beach area the houses are mainly owned by owners and not tented to who ever so they keep the town and beach very clean with no problems. There are bathrooms but they ask for people not change in them and that's so u don't have bad things going on there and they were spotless clean they just don't want people trashing up bathrooms and then big bus loads of people causing lines. They have a shower head right before you get off the beach where u can rinse sand off you and kids and your beach stuff. So you might just have to ride home a short while from the beach a bit sandy. For us it's only like a hour drive and we just put clothes over our suits and we stopped to eat. We stopped at wawa and took our lunch with us. There is a charge for the beach bit no charge for parking and close parking and a lot could not complain. This will be our beach for the day trips. We...

Avon-by-the-Sea is a quintessential New Jersey Shore gem, and my recent visit confirmed its status as a peaceful, delightful escape. Unlike its more crowded neighbors, Avon offers a serene and relaxed atmosphere, making it the perfect destination for families or anyone seeking a quiet retreat.

The beach is a major highlight, with its clean, white sand and gentle, sloping shoreline that makes it ideal for swimming. The simple, charming boardwalk is lined with Victorian-style lamps and benches, creating a wonderful spot for a leisurely stroll with an ocean breeze. We loved watching the parade of boats enter and exit the Shark River Inlet, a unique sight on the southern edge of town. The fine restaurants and quaint shops found just a short walk away provide a perfect break from the sun without disturbing the town's laid-back vibe.

Exploring the town's historic Victorian architecture was another treat. The preserved charm and well-maintained streets showcase a community that values its heritage while offering modern comfort. For those seeking genuine relaxation, a stay at one of the lovely Bed & Breakfast Inns is highly recommended, offering a truly old-fashioned, hospitable experience. Avon-by-the-Sea is a charming discovery that feels like a best-kept secret, and I can't...

The beach was very nice, clean. The Lifeguards that were on duty were very attentive, as they should be. There was a small playground on the beach for the littles. This beach was more family oriented, so with that, theres a few "No's" ❌️ to note: no music, tents (except those specifically for a child), pets, alcohol, tables, or clothes changing in the bathroom... This beach is on the quieter side. Likely bc it i$ in a heavily re$idential area, which also makes the (free) street parking tricky, so get there early morning to find a close spot or you'll be walking several blocks lugging your beach gear. There was food somewhere near the boardwalk as I saw folks coming back with hot food. I personally didn't see it and wasn't looking, bc we had brought our own food. If you want a more lively beach, that allows ALL the previously mentioned "no's" then head down shore about 10 mins to Asbury Park beach. It's a vibe down there! Men and women were wearing skimpier bathing suits (FYI) , they have food and drinks all over and 'entertainment' (street performers) And nearby parking lots as well as metered...

This is another beach along the Jersey Shore that I visit every so often. I like this beach because it is quieter than some of the more popular beaches, even though after a certain time the beach looks overly crowded and packed like sardines. Parking can seem quite difficult, so I suggest going as early as possible if driving down. There also aren't too many food options with the except of The Columns or Promenade, but food and drinks are allowed on the beach. There are multiple booths to buy wristbands, which for an adult costs $12 for the day. The beach is kept clean, but it doesn't have too many restrooms. Overall, this is one of the better beaches along the Jersey Shore.

Of course, this is a small beach but don’t be too quick to overlook this quaint beach town for its rowdier southern neighbor, Belmar. Clean beach, prices, playground for kids -it's all there. Boardwalk: Avon’s three-quarter-mile boardwalk was restored after Hurricane Sandy and it's small and beautiful. No Dogs are allowed on the boardwalk. Grey decking, towering lampposts, and seafoam blue benches, it’s well-maintained boardwalks on the Jersey Shore. Avon Pavilion is a very famous restaurant around here so have a bite over there. The Columns: This Victorian mansion-turned restaurant/club is the heart of nightlife in Avon.
