Avon Beach — Attraction in Avon-by-the-Sea

A very nice beach with free parking (if you can find it!) Super clean and very attentive lifeguards. My only issue is with the enforcement of the "no beach tent" rule. We started to set ours up and were told by a walking police officer that they weren't allowed. Fine, we took it down. Our umbrella broke. Needless to say with two little kids, I was annoyed but we bought an umbrella at the local shop. A few hours later we noticed multiple beach tents being used by grown adults and the police were walking right by. This just rubbed me the wrong way. Well it is located in nice place with 6 million plus houses around. But you cannot listen music there you cannot bring tent there and you cannot change you clothes in the toilet (where you can I did not see really) and also no alcohol 🍷 which is irrelevant for me but for someone maybe it is important. So I do not like to be so restricted I feel myself living in Germany again in this place. Long branch beach is not so far and not surrounded by expensive houses for example but there at least...

Went there on Saturday, paid for 4 persons $52 ONLY to enter the beach but apparently after we paid we were told VERY RUDELY and screamed from lifeguards that we CANNOT GO TO THE WATER AND WHEB I ASKED WHAT DID WE PAY FOR THEY TOLD ME TO WALK ON THE SAND…. and also a person in charge at the kiosk where we paid I asked for refund he told me STRIGHT there is no way. Bye bye… NEVER WILL GO TO THIS...
