Pros: the rice is AMAZING. I'm a little picky when it comes to rice and this may be the best rice I've ever had in a restaurant? Very surprised by this but hey, good rice is good rice lol. Love their pastor tacos, the chicken and carnitas were good also.
Cons: the biggest: NO FREE WATER. Seriously guys? That's just bad business and may be enough to keep me away indefinitely. Forcing someone to pay for bottled water is ridiculous. Second con is they were extremely slow. Like excessively. I'm a super laid back, patient person but I'm telling ya ..it was slow slow sloowwwwww. There were a lot of tables of people just sitting and waiting & waiting for their food. Third con is that the tacos are INSANELY small. I've literally never had a taco that small in my life lol. I mean, for $1.25 on Tuesdays, I get it - but they are half or even a third of a size of a regular street taco. Thank God my husband wasn't there or he'd have needed a dozen to himself hahahaha. I would be really irritated to pay the reg price of $2 for a taco that small. My son is 8 and two tacos and rice was nowhere near enough for him. Lastly, no bathrooms? Really?! An out of order bathroom seems like a health code violation. Another reviewer mentioned this a few days ago and they're right - the guys at the counter could be better at customer service (teenage boys). They were definitely more interested in talking to each other than focusing on the costumer in front of them. One was even eating what appeared to be chips and queso WHILE ringing a customer up??! Yikes
So....I don't know. My tacos and rice tasted good, but took forever to get and no free water is a big BIG downside for me. Undecided as to whether or not...
Read moreThis place is so clean and tidy, I was surprised with that salsa bar… bang bang this place reminds me when I had my food truck with 6 salsas for my costumers here is my review firs on the salsas: Jalapeño good flavor mild Tomatillo the season is perfect a little bit acid Árbol delicious kick Chipotle creamy spicy perfect for tortas Habanero needs to be more blended on this one I fell the habanero on it but is to much oil segregate on it, Unknow if you are adding the oil after cooked… I recommend to cook all the ingredients together with the amount of oil desired and then put all together in the blender not as additional… Al pastor is good but not the best, can say looks like chorizo,(ground pork) teacher torta was delicious, alambre tastes good! Will comeback for try more options in the menu… it seems like the ownership has Mexico City blood so my question is is there a chance to add egg as optional in the cubana torta for make it more… you know authentic. You got my attention this...
